RAM BOE is a nice and relaxing puzzle game what inspired by classic Sokoban. When you start this game you will find here a little story too, the purport of this: you are a adventurer who sadly have been trapped by a dameon. But later you are escaped and your soul moved to one ram. Now your quest is to release every soul what you will find in your journey and escape from rune stones. Here you will find 40 different levels, first levels been a tutorial levels, where you will learn a basics of game. Your goal is to convine the same runes and when you have only one from that type, you should deliver that to the specific point of current level. When you doed this with all runes, you should move also to that point, after this you will finish a current level. Also you will find for example on some levels a "random" rune stone spawn, what bring to the game more variability. The levels are not so hard, you can pass them enough fast if your goal just pass a game and not a beat even bigger score. In a game you will find a nice graphic also a relaxing music what well fit to the game. So my verdict + steam cards and achievements + nice graphic + nice music + relaxing gameplay + have a little story + "random" on some levels + leaderboard - sometimes easy do to much step - short - will be fine if game get some harder levels - camera view If you are looking for a gem with "Dark Souls" experience, this game not for you. Here you will not find a to hard puzzles, you can pass them enough fast, so will be great if in future a game get some harder levels too. However this game is enough good, if you are want to get some relaxing hours with nice graphic and music, this game for you, especially a price is fair for this.
Ram Boe is a Sokoban-eqsue puzzler, where you control a fluffy ram called Boe in his quest to rescue trapped souls on the icy mountains from the demon Thrym.
https://youtu.be/fZbbny9R7E0 The game is simple: You’re a ram, there are blocks, you shuffle them into a magical pit. The blocks have symbols, or 'runes', and you combine the matching runes with others like it. This can become complicated when there are other blocks in your way. Not only that, you’ll have non-blocks that do not have runes (they're blank) and can only be either shuffled out of the way or pushed off the level entirely. This is where the challenge comes in. You have a level that may be large or small with obstacles in your way that will prevent you from getting all the blocks into the pit. There’s also walls that can hinder movement if a block is accidentally pushed against it. Some levels are challenging, some are simple, and some will make you pull your hair out. Maybe. There will be instances where the Undo will be disabled and you're left with one chance to beat the level. Otherwise, you're forced to restart the entire level. There's also an instance where I encountered the demon and he would manipulate the level. He would add blocks at random of any rune to throw you off your game. And this level had the Undo disabled as well. On top of having a timer slowly ticking down, you have to move fast and accurate through these levels despite the challenges. The music is looped, nothing too special here. The voice overs for some of the cutscenes leave a little to be desired. The initial cutscene, for example, is hard to hear and without the subtitles might be hard to distinguish. The 2nd cutscene is a little better. My only problems were the controls. I used both a keyboard and a 360 controller during my playthrough. Both seem really sensitive. When I barely touched the thumbstick, Boe would sometimes go off the level. Same with the keyboard, hitting a key one too many times may have you accidentally shoving a block off the level, which results in a loss. This sensitivity can cause some aggravation as I found myself pushing blocks I needed against a wall by accident or even off the level. Once you get past the controls, the game is a great time waster. The mobile port of the game, however, is not very good. Boe is very hard to control and you sometimes lose the level for no reason at all and no explanation is given. There's also a Sandbox mode where you can create levels and share them on the Steam workshop. Overall, Ram Boe is a cute, Sokoban-esque puzzler that’s sure to keep you entertained for a while. Despite the controls and the awkward voice-overs, this puzzler is not one to miss if you enjoy logic-based games.
If this review helped you, please give it a thumbs-up. A very basic puzzle game with nice graphics and sound. I would have preferred a much simpler version that didn't require me to wait ages for the ram to move around. I think 90% of my time was spent just waiting for the bastard to move!
I just played the game. It's quite cool and catchy. It reminds me about a very old game played on my first computer, a 486, on windows 3.1 - Chips. A game from Wingames bundle. This time, well we have 3D, nice music and graphics and ingenious level designs. Awesome! I do recommend it. Notes: 1) Pay attention to the Tip screens - you may find out useful tips. 2) The game may require some updates. I had to use my Enter key from the numeric keypad, instead of the "Return" one. Question for develpers: can you please decrease the animation time on PC? The animation takes too long.. Sometimes I have the feeling that the animations are slowing me down and I feel like I loose precious seconds... Thank you!
Cute puzzle game with nice animations and music. It's not too challenging but it makes you think. I'd love to recommend it but the camera angles and long animation times hamper what would otherwise be a great puzzle game.
would be a nice game without the timer, need relax-mode
Дизайн уровней и искусственный интеллект противников слишком просты. Уровни однообразны, им не хватает разнообразия и сложности.
RAM BOE is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. The mobile app is, even as the developers admit themselves, a ripoff of Sokoban, but with some cartoony low poly graphics and instead of a pixel dude it's a sheep that pushes the boxes. So basically this is the same game that you can play for free in a web browser, only the "developers" want your money because they dumped a crap mobile app on Steam. The absolute state of amateur "indie" game developers, right here. On the upside you can change the resolution for the game, but apart from that lofty technical high, it's all downhill, and sharply. From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The mobile app features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the mid 2000s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the mobile app (although the requirement for this to run on low end mobile phones is a factor), and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the mobile app unplayable for differently-abled gamers, or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone. These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. You don't have to take my word about how bad the mobile app is, we can measure the interest in a game by how much people bothered to play it. RAM BOE has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the mobile app absolutely failed to capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for for completing the tutorial, trivial to achieve, but less than 1 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the mobile app. That's a tiny, tiny proportion of gamers who even bothered with this. Ouch. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this mobile app was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the mobile app. But this isn't consistent with the achievement stats, that show less than 1 percent of players bothered playing the mobile app for any reasonable amount of time. How is it possible for this mobile app to have so many concurrent players who weren't even playing the mobile app? Trading cards. Players will use card idling software to collect the cards and sell them, but this won't trigger any achievements in-game. That tells us people only really bought this mobile app for trading cards, and that's a damning indictment of the woeful quality. A closer look at the numbers shows the mobile app just has a couple of players every week running up the mobile app and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, this is $2 USD, on app stores, it's $1. Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay TWICE THE PRICE for a cheap mobile game just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers. Because this is a mobile app, is priced to insult and gouge PC gamers, and because of the other defects, it's impossible to recommend. Just who do they think we are?
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was really hoping this would be a fun game and I would gladly give it a thumbs up IF THERE WAS A RELAXED OPTION (preferably no time or at the very least much more time than is currently given on each level). But the times are way to restrictive to get the levels done without hurrying to do it which is not fun for me. Sorry, devs! I also didn't like that I had to restart the game to get the Steam achievements earned on the previous start. UPDATE: Timer was removed (+) but the mouse was also removed (-) which makes gameplay totally with the keyboard a pain! Sorry, still a negative review.
