A cute atmospheric puzzle game that will take you under an hour to complete. Perfect for a little brain teaser in a near meditative state. The mesmerizing musics, like in the previous game, are adding a lot to the cryptic vibe of the whole experience.
Despite having a minimalistic appearance, the presentation is actually quite good. The game is played on something that resembles a memory device screen. When you switch it on for the first time, you discover that memories must restored first. The goal in each puzzle is to get data packs to their blinking destination. You do this by pushing, a simple but effective mechanic. There is no time limit or any threat, so you can take as much time as you need to solve them. The difficulty is casual for the most part. Since the playing grid is so small, you can immediately see the steps you need to take to complete the puzzle. However, it’s also easy to get yourself stuck because there is no undo move. Pushing a pack into a corner is the most typical wrong move. Although it’s possible to solve a puzzle with the minimum number of steps, which is shown in the pause screen, it’s only there for those who want to test themselves and achievement hunters. Even if it takes you longer to complete a puzzle, you may always try again using the level selection that becomes available once the game is completed. Data packs reveal bits of the story when you bump into them. It’s not much, just a short sentence or "I remember...". The fact that data packs speak every time you run into them is a little annoying. This means you keep getting the same messages each time you want to push a pack. The controls works fine, but you can’t use a gamepad and a keyboard at the same time. If you have a gamepad plugged in, the keyboard doesn’t work.

While I enjoyed Me && MORY I find it's a bit more difficult to recommend compared to the other title in the DATA + STARS saga, LAMBDA end THEORY. It almost seems unfair to compare the two given how different they are. While both games have the same sort of atmosphere and cryptic storytelling Me && MORY is much smaller in it's scope, essentially just being a short sokoban game with talking boxes. That's not to say that what the boxes (or "sticky data") have to say isn't interesting, their ability to paint a picture of a world in only a few sentences between them and leave me wanting to know more is an achievement in of itself but that only makes it all the more disappointing when they start repeating lines towards the end of the game. On it's own merit I'd say that Me && MORY has a bit of trouble standing alone without the larger and more intricate world of LAMBDA end THEORY behind it, and I would definitely not recommend playing Me && MORY if you haven't played LAMBDA end THEORY. If you have played LAMBDA end THEORY this definitely doesn't feel like a proper follow up, think of it more like a bite sized snack to tide you over for now. If nothing else though this does make me excited to see what's coming in the next volume of the DATA + STARS saga.
Jeu court mais sympa, avec une vibe digne d’un jeu GameBoy. J’ai pas trop compris pourquoi le jeu se termine sur un personnage qui m’annonce que mon père était un geôlier, mais il doit avoir raison.
Short but sweet little game! Art style is simple and cute, love the subtle effects too.
