May's Journey uses puzzles and an interesting storyline to teach people how to code. It asks the player to write code in order to help the heroine navigate the mazes and save her world. It's a great idea, very fun to play, and I would definitely recommend it to experiment with coding concepts. I'm looking forward to more of the story in the future!
Fun game that combines elements of programming as well as puzzle solving, all while being educational. Give it a try.
This game is calming, has nice puzzles, and I like the environments.

"May's Journey" is a somewhat ambitious and genuinely made attempt at a programming simulator, essentially one of those puzzle games where the solution is to set up a simple sequence of programmatical steps. It's presented with some rather mediocre 3D graphics, but it certainly beats the pants off the usual pixelcrap we see here on Steam. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
Really good game, fun to play and good for people trying to get into coding!
I'm liking the game so far. Each puzzle is non-repetitive and adds a little something, involving the surroundings intimately into the puzzle. This is great immersion. I like the story, it is light and thoughtful, I wonder what happens next for May...how is she stuck inside this world? For learning programming I think it's a great intro, and it provides great feedback on what errors you made in your script for easy guidance.

Great Game that teaches Lua
I'm currently doing a challenge to play through a free game in every single category on steam. I then give an honest review using ChatGPT.
Game: 76 / 447 Category: Programming "A Fun Introduction to Programming" This game offers a charming and accessible way to dip your toes into basic programming. Each puzzle presents you with a small IDE and introduces objects and commands, allowing you to write code to guide your character through the map. The puzzles are satisfying and give a solid sense of accomplishment when solved. While I didn’t dive too deep, it seems like a great tool for anyone curious about programming or looking for a lighthearted way to learn. It’s not a hardcore coding simulator, but as a fun and engaging introduction, it’s definitely worth a try!
