It's a fun game, but matchmaking sucks. As a result, quick play matches are very one sided. Either you're rolling the opponent or they're rolling you OR you're fighting bots. Also, players can be pretty toxic sometimes. I guess it comes with the territory of a team/competitive game, but I wish more could be done to improve that...Maybe some tutorials on player etiquette (require this one for sure), team composition, swapping etc.
The game is genuinely terrible, which is disappointing because I love Marvel and a lot of the heroes in the roster. After putting over 1,000 hours into it, I've recognized that Competitive is simply a waste of time. The matchmaking feels heavily driven by EOMM, making matches feel more like they're designed to control your experience than reward your skill and game awareness. I honestly can't recommend playing Competitive. Protect your peace and spend your time on a game that's actually fun and rewarding instead of one that's constantly frustrating. The worst part is that winning doesn't even feel satisfying anymore. If I win, I already expect a losing streak to follow, and if I lose, I know it's probably going to continue. It makes every match feel predetermined rather than earned. It feels every match is betting on a coin flip. On top of that, the community is one of the worst I've encountered. Teamwork is rare, and almost everyone is quick to blame everyone else instead of taking responsibility for their own mistakes, even when they're the reason the team lost, all in while you're up against the top 6 on the other team. If you really want to play Marvel Rivals, I'd recommend sticking to Quick Play or the casual game modes. Those can still be enjoyable moderately, but even matchmaking issues exist there. But if you're considering grinding Competitive, I'd save yourself the frustration.

Unplayable garbage
Marvel Rivals is a solid game, but the community needs to be studied by scientists. I downloaded it expecting superhero fights. Instead I loaded into a lobby where Spider-Man was flirting with Venom, Jeff the Land Shark was getting called "babygirl," and someone was arguing that Doctor Doom is "breedable." I don't even ask questions anymore. Half the players are sweating like it's the grand finals. The other half are in chat acting like this is a dating app with superpowers. The game itself is awesome. The people playing it? Y'all scare me. Every time I open chat I lose a little more faith in humanity... and then I queue for another match. The community should be kept under observation.
This game has the worst dive problem in any hero shooter ever. You genuinely can't do anything to counter it unless someone on your team is better at dive than the other team. It feels pointless to play any other class. The most unbalanced piece of ♥♥♥♥ game ever created.
"Marvel Rivals does not use EOMM" The greatest lie i've ever heard.
tuff
As much as I love the idea of the new team-up system it has removed any of the fun skill expression from the game, and made the damage and healing too much where one side can very easily get the advantage and keep it, to the point even winning just feels scummy and unearnt. I do like that the devs reduced the visual clutter but that doesn't fix any of the balancing issues if anything it's made it more obvious, they had a good idea just executed it poorly ruining the game.
