Love the retro gameplay integrated with more modern mechanics like the card unlocks. different scenarios with different factions add a nice variety to gameplay as well.
Great little game. A steal at the sale price. **Udpate: Now over 20 hours into it and 23/25 achievements. The higher levels can very tricky to figure out strategies (at least for me). RNG will get you and you'll need to restart if you get a bad setup. The Dev is active and helpful. Looking forward to working toward 100% and hoping for dlc or new games from this dev in the future.**
The game is a strategy game with RPG features, you earn perks, marshals and so on. It resembles old games like Iron Lord and Dungeons and Dragons. The music and atmosphere are excellent, giving it an old-school charm that fits perfectly with its gameplay
Questo gioco mi ricorda tantissimo Age of War! A very cool rts mixed with the tower defense genre, though the rts mechanics shine a lot more in my opinion. Each "kingdom" has its own units, that each follow a pattern: basic meele unit, archer unit, utiliy unit, explosive/piercing unit. Each kingdom has its own marshal which grants you unique perks (silver generation, move speed, armor, etc.) and marshals can be unlocked by grinding the game. My personal best strategy to use was breaking the economy system with the "silver per second" strat, by using rogues and max silver generation. The game is trivial and easy to get into at the start but makes you start thinking at around wave 15-20. Best part of the experience so far was taking about 20min to figure the perfect strategy for the stage and then completing it (as your "main" strategy might not be viable in all stages). There's a lot of info regarding the numbers and mechanics, but if you are into exploring strategy systems and optimizing each stage, I'd recommend you check this one out.
A stylistic nod to the retro aesthetics, this single player game captivates the user with the epic soundtracks and fun gameplay. It starts easy but difficulty ramps up and it legitamately chllanges the player towards the mid game. I like the in game progression / customization with cards and meta progression with upgrades and unlocked heroes. If you're looking for a no strings attached, quick in-n-out single player fun with adequate challenges, this game is for you! Fair warning: warm up your index finger because you'll be clicking a lot :D
Back then, I was smart. My favorite marshal was Noah. Now I am wise. I know none can rival Lady Mereleth. All in all, really fun game both for short sessions or an all nighter.
For $1, its fun enough. Its like an old flash game: gets old quick, but a good time until then.
The concept is cool, addictive, good mechanics and with excellent potential for additional content As the price is really attractive, wanted to support the developer !
Been enjoying this while listening to audiobooks / podcasts. It's a good casual game with solid progression.
