I've had a lot of fun playing Marine Glory and working my way through the levels for the different ship types. Exploring the different worlds; their unique enemies and battling bosses was a good challenge at all levels due to the scaling system in place (you can also make it harder by bumping enemy levels up before travelling to a world). Each of the ships have unique abilities providing you with great options for how you play each fight - whether you want to be fast and agile, but suffer from low damage or if you want try to be an all round powerhouse. Learning the different abilities was interesting and allows you to adjust your fighting style depending as required. I used the Shell 68 ship for most of the main story missions but that ship was a slog against some of the bosses! You can make up for a ships weaknesses by upgrading the abilities available through the ability shop, adding charms which give buffs to damage, speed, defence, luck, and other special effects, and can also add more powerful cannons. Each of these upgrades has resource requirements which you can gather through sailing the different worlds and depths in each world (and by farming bosses after you unlock them) - be sure to keep hold of resource as sometimes you'll get fresh resource gathering missions which you already have resources for an then can claim the reward immediately. You can also adjust your crew by placing crew members in roles which they have a high stat for - this lets you upgrade as you get resources! Playing the main missions and plenty of side ones to upgrade my ships, mostly in cannons and charms, took me around 8 hours. I think you could speed this up more by using the portal and goal scrolls more which allow you to teleport to objectives (but are fairly expensive gold cost); but I liked sailing around fighting pirates and conquering outposts. I like that most of the achievements I could get through normal playing and only really had to grind out getting the secret boss charms, so great game for achievemnt hunters. There were a few clunky gameplay / UI things I ran into, but nothing that spoiled the fun at all and this game runs great at 180+FPS on a 8 year old PC using 1080ti. As I was play testing, I passed on plenty of comments to the developer who then implemented a number of quality of life improvements. I played on mouse + keyboard throughout but there is controller support. A great casual adventure game with a respectable level of challenge, discovery, and customization for a solo dev game! I see loads of potential for expansion in this game in the future!
