usually i ignore the monster energy series, but while i was browsing thru the motocross games i saw this one for 2 bucks and good reviews compared to later iterations, so i picked it up. chromatic aberration, motion blur and lens dirt are your 3 friends in this game and tbf, those work very well and make it cinematic. physics are okey - i expected worse. disabling driving aids is a must tho, otherwise it feels very flat. the game forces HDR without any option to disable it. there is a easy fix via config - just google it or look in the PCGamingWiki - your best friend if you have issues in a game. don't spam the steam forums with crap like "it doesn't work" which is always helpful for other who wanna help... simply take a look into the wiki... anyway, good game for 2 bucks. runs as smooth at max settings as freshly brewed raw chicken water. (if anyone knows lindsay from arrested development) cheers
Amazing game, even to todays standards. Good physics, features, gameplay, ai, and more compared to other dirtbike games. Especially the Supercross games.... Me personally the ranking now goes SX1, SX3, SX2, (hot garbage territory) SX2025, SX4, SX6, SX5 If you're looking for a good SX game this is the one!!
Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame is a focused, simulation-leaning motocross racer that aims to translate the intensity and precision of AMA Supercross into a playable, officially licensed package. Developed and published by Milestone S.r.l., the game puts authenticity front and center, offering real riders, bikes, and stadium tracks while asking players to master the nuanced mechanics that define professional Supercross racing. Rather than chasing arcade immediacy, it commits to a technical approach that rewards patience, repetition, and an understanding of how dirt bikes behave under pressure. The heart of the experience lies in its representation of Supercross racing itself. Stadium tracks are recreated with close attention to layout and flow, from rhythm sections and tabletops to long whoop lanes that punish sloppy throttle control. Each circuit demands a slightly different approach, and learning the optimal lines through corners and jumps becomes a core part of progression. The game captures the stop-start intensity of Supercross, where races are short but relentless, and a single mistake can cost several positions. This emphasis on track knowledge and consistency makes even familiar circuits feel challenging until they are properly learned. Handling and physics are deliberately demanding. Bikes respond sensitively to throttle input, rider positioning, and landing angles, making clean jumps and smooth corner exits essential for competitive lap times. Maintaining momentum through rhythm sections is particularly important, as poorly timed inputs can disrupt flow and quickly snowball into lost ground. For players willing to invest the time, the sensation of stringing together a clean lap feels genuinely rewarding. However, this realism also means the game can feel unforgiving to newcomers, especially those expecting an arcade-style racer with instant feedback and generous forgiveness. Career mode serves as the main single-player attraction, guiding players through the journey of a professional Supercross rider. Starting from lower-tier events, you work your way up through championships, building reputation, unlocking sponsorships, and improving bike performance. Progression is steady and structured, offering a clear sense of advancement while reinforcing the importance of consistency over flashy riding. Customization options for bikes and riders add a layer of personalization, though these systems are largely functional rather than deeply expressive, focusing on performance tuning rather than aesthetic experimentation. Presentation supports the simulation focus without overwhelming it. Stadium environments are convincingly realized, with lighting, crowd presence, and track detail helping convey the scale of professional Supercross events. Rider models and animations convey weight and motion effectively, particularly during jumps and landings, even if some transitions feel stiff at times. Audio design emphasizes engine noise and track ambience, reinforcing the mechanical feel of the sport, though commentary and crowd reactions are relatively understated. Multiplayer and online modes extend replayability but are more appealing to dedicated fans than casual players. Competitive races against other players highlight the game’s strengths and weaknesses simultaneously: when skill levels are evenly matched, races can be tense and exhilarating, but uneven matchmaking or a smaller player base can limit consistency. Local modes provide additional value, though the core appeal remains mastery of the handling model rather than social play. One of the most notable aspects of Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame is its learning curve. Tutorials and assists help ease players in, but they cannot fully mask the inherent difficulty of the simulation approach. Early frustration is common, especially when struggling with jumps or losing control through technical sections. Over time, however, persistence pays off, and improvement feels earned rather than handed out. This makes the game particularly appealing to players who enjoy skill-based progression and mechanical depth. At the same time, the commitment to realism can limit broader appeal. Players looking for instant gratification, exaggerated tricks, or arcade-style spectacle may find the experience rigid or repetitive. The game’s focus on authenticity means there is little in the way of experimental modes or dramatic variation beyond racing itself. While this consistency reinforces its identity, it also narrows its audience. Ultimately, Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame succeeds as a faithful and demanding representation of Supercross racing. It delivers a technically deep motocross experience that rewards dedication, track mastery, and precise control, making it a strong choice for fans of the sport and simulation-oriented racers. While its steep learning curve and limited accessibility may deter casual players, those willing to commit will find a challenging and satisfying racing experience that captures the discipline and intensity of professional Supercross competition. This is the one! I've played so many of the MES games but I keep coming back.
tope
peak game i played 13 hours had the game for like 3 days crazy fun
