If there's anything to be said about this game is that.. it is too early even for early access. Mobs run away in middle of battle, because if you keep changing your position using dodge you get too far from their original position making them walk back Controls are still clunky, you need to have a finger on left CTRL while using 6 on your pad.. so unless you have a huge hand or tiny keyboard, very difficult It's not very optimized yet, i have a GTX 1080TI/i7 7700k and sometimes i could get 30FPS Not all is bad though The mood can get good depending on the story, i like more darkish worlds exactly how it is portraited now The graphics are actually decent Need A LOT of time to be a game
I brought this game because on a sale it was available for 3$. Don't buy this game right now! It's not even in an alpha state. This game is a good example of why steam needs some kind of a quality check before allowing a game on early access. Main problems: - Extremely janky and clunky controls that make no sense at all in an ARPG. - Combat is extremely clunky and your character moves and collides with the environment in weird ways. - Game has absolutely zero content right now and is unbalanced to the point of being absurd. It will take you 10+ tries to even reach the first town and the game doesn't save your progress - you can only save at campfires. As soon as you leave the town, you will be greeted with enemies that have crazy amounts of health and health regen as well as enough damage to two-shot you. Good luck. - There is basically nothing in this game. I can't even come up with more cons because the game simply has nothing.

I have enjoyed my little time with the game so here's some thoughts Pros +Dark Theme +Art +Graphics, could be improved +Atmospheric +Music Cons -Unoptimized (Although, kudos for the loading time) -Clunky Combat -Clunky AI (e.g enemies running away or glitching up onto objects) -Clunky Movement -Bugs / Glitches (e.g I glitched through a locked door using a skill, I glitched up onto a wall using a skill) I see potential, that's why I decided to try the game out, for the price that it is, its worth checking out by all means! I can't see that 7€ (At the time of writing this review) Is too much to ask for, seems like the devs are actually trying to put out a decent product Since its a very early product, take it with a grain of salt at this point I hope to see the game develop in a good way
I'm recommending this game because of what I can see it becoming, not because of what it currently is, and because of the very low introductory price. Be aware that this game is currently not much of a game at all, but more of a proof of concept by a one-man development "team". The developer describes this game as the Dark Souls of ARPGs. This is both accurate and inaccurate, currently. Malus definitely has the atmosphere and feeling of danger of a Souls game, but unfortunately lacks the precision that allows those games to be a fun and fair challenge despite their difficulty. Sometimes clicking to attack does nothing, sometimes your shield won't come up, sometimes you'll lock onto the wrong enemy. Fighting a single enemy, especially bosses, feels quite good and challenging. Fighting groups of enemies feels messy and artificially difficult. If you want to play a polished ARPG right now, don't buy this. If you want to play something unique and interesting and are willing to overlook its flaws to support its development, it's worth the price.
This game is abandoned and not received any new updates since October 2021. Has massive game play issues things as simple as getting stuck on the environment constantly. Loosing progress and even loosing your entire save file. For a game in early access for multiple years it only had 1 quest which was very buggy and nothing more. The game appears to be abandoned and steam should remove it. That being said I do love the look and feel of the game, it has so much potential sad it has met this fate.
Pre-Pre-Pre-Pre-Alpha but still better, more enjoyable and less buggy than Wolcen.
abondend game, Last update from October 2021, dont buy it and pls Report it so its taken out of the store
very good game, beautiful graphics, a mixture of diablo 2, dark souls an poe, very dark, I loved this game hopefully the developer does not give up on this masterpiece, because this game has a lot of potential!!!!
Current date - September 2023 Last update from Devs - October 2021 Had potential, now faded to nothing - sorry to the devs, they seemed passionate but maybe flew too close to the sun. Developer received a cease and desist regarding the name Malus and seemed to be struggling in the last update notes. Wherever they are - i wish em well, but the game seems gone.
As much potential as the game had, it is now October 29th, 2022, 1 year and 8 days past the last peep from the devs. One more game abandoned, and one more reason early access sucks.
