MAKE IT as an Artist

MAKE IT as an Artist is a free to play Flash game that is an artistic simulation of an artists life. It worked on win 10, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. This game is a Flash game and comes with a flash player built in. You have 5 activities to do: Sleep (awake), Window (Happy), Painting (fame), Booze (?), Computer Work (money). Very challenging to win, easy to lose. Once you are poor, cannot work your way out of poor. Sad story. Controls are : left and right arrow and spacebar. Background Music will get on your nerves after a while, did not see way to mute or turn down in-game. Very low rez game graphics. Should run on Potato. Try this game and delete it.

I'm not sure this is a game... I do understand that it tries to convey the hardships of being a full-time artis, but it's not good or deep or deserving any attention. Almost everything the game wants to tell you is in those screenshots above, and it's not much, and it's not helpful. It's not even as depressing as the author wants it to be, it's just kid of dumb and shallow.

MAKE IT as an Artist is a free non-game that emulates the life of a failed artist. It's more of a visual novel than anything as you must continually press the space bar to make the artist sleep for a few moments in an attempt to eventually propel this art installation to wherever it was supposed to go. The game is presented in craptastic 2D retro pixel "art". It's common to see developers use pixel "art" as a substitute for doing their jobs properly and using contemporary PC visuals. People who purport to be actual artists should surely be capable of doing actual decent graphics and visuals? Apparently not. Regardless, the presentation is dismal. And the developer doubled down with a godawful TV screen frame around the whole "game". As the developer indicates, was an attempt to art instead of a game. The developer directly admits this isn't intended to be a game, despite them misleadingly publishing this as a game on Steam. Ugh. Steam is for video games, not failed art installations that had to be self-published on Steam because the local art galleries took out restraining orders. It's well established that video games can be art. Games like Grand Theft Auto V and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice are outstanding games, the quality of those games is so high that they are easily recognised as masterpieces... works of art. That is not the case with "MAKE IT as an Artist". This is more the case of someone unable to develop a video game or produce desireable art self publishing some junk to clutter the Steam store. It's free, which is nice, but this isn't really a game. Many local art galleries are also free, and feature exceptional works of art. So if you're looking for a decent game, this isn't one. If you're looking for decent art, this isn't. If you want an art fix, visit a local gallery, you won't regret it.

Aesthetic and humorous, [strike]oh and of course very depressing[/strike] Definitely worth a try. If this were to become a longer paid game with more components in it, I think I'd definitely purchase and replay. [strike] [i]Free[/i] is a pretty good price don't you think? [/strike]

Make IT as an Artist bir oyundan çok, bunalımlı, başarısız bir sanatçının hayatını konu alan Tamagotchi biçimindeki bir sanat projesidir. İçinde yaşayan ve çeşitli düşünceleri ruhla ifade eden bir sanatçının yaşadığı bir evimiz var: "Şimdi ne saçmalık çiziyorum!", "Asla başaramayacağım" vb. Emo onaylandı. This can't even be considered a game. It is a perfect representation of the struggles and insecurities as an Artist. Over time in the game your confidence about yourself and your art starts to plummet and you will eventually meet an unfortunate fate. You'll soon find yourself having to lose sleep, happiness, and money whilst trying to get to the goal of being Famous. I don't think it's possible to actually win, but I also think that's the point.
