Very cute, very cozy. A nice "sit back and relax" type of game. The artwork and soundtrack don't disappoint at all. These characters will live in my head rent free (not like that wasn't already the case). I genuinely really enjoyed the educational aspect... I need to do more research. It's what the handsome computers would've wanted me to do. I'd give Mark 3 the world. Get him a sequel.
absolute peak i love gay computers
Thought it was a cute VN and facts about the computers were intresting
A really fun tour through computer history with extravagant characters. The humor is top notch, especially all the potential "endings" in the game. The writing carries this through easily and I truly wanted more people to interact with along the way. The art style is unique and fun, with excellent expression and amazing details in the characters. The artists clearly made them reflect the real life computer counterparts. Would really like to see a sequel with more characters and interactivity. Excellent start and clearly a passion project. Would recommend for a chill computer history lesson. Eniac hot. 10/10
How can I describe this game? Mainframe Men is a free, short visual novel about the early history of mainframe computers, which sounds educational but not entertaining... except that, er, it is presented by funny, attractive, quirky and - yes - entertaining humanoid versions of the computers themselves. This content is going to look like ancient history to many players. But for me, who was born in 1958, graduated from the first Computer Science degree at my London University college, and learned machine code, compiler design, and programming on monochrome VDUs connected to a big, hot, temperamental computer built as a hobby project by the academic staff (including a biologist who wrote its operating system), this is like encountering old friends again many years later. I knew about half of the history told here, but all of it was fascinating not least for being provided in such a novel (no pun intended) way. There are four achievements for three "bad" endings and one "good" one. All in all, a little burst of nostalgic joy and laughter - my (aged) thanks to the developers!
Bu görsel romanla bilgisayarınızın ataları hakkında bilgi edinin! ENIAC... UNIVAC... Durun, bu makineler neden bu kadar ilgi çekici ? cevap içerideeeee.
This game is really such a creative, fun little find! The interactions between the characters are fun, the history we learn is interesting, but the BEST part of the game are the designs. You can tell each design was carefully thought out and lovingly made, while sticking to tropes that are meant to appeal. I loved every character, every bit of logic behind the design (the moth thing was so fun and cute!) and I really hope to see more passion projects in the future!
i need them so bad oh my god
But can that twink run doom? -------- The binac brothers are an absolute delight, the character designs all hit it out of the park, though sometimes the game assumes you dont know things you actually do and it would be interesting if there were segments where you could tinker with assembly. Overall, 9/10. I'd buy a sequel in a heart beat.
