Magnetic by Nature is a fun physics based puzzle game that has a good difficulty curve (until the 5th zone) and it’s very easy to pick up for a few minutes at a time to complete a level here and there. I found myself doing the “just one more level” talk more than once! This looks to be a port from a console or mobile platform, hence the short levels. I find this game similar to “Defy Gravity” in that you can either repel or attract yourself to applicable parts/objects of the level to complete it. There is a very simple story of you waking up your robot friends by completing all the levels within them. Teaching of the game mechanics is done very well. It eases you into new concepts and obstacles. A quick tip may appear but the rest is on the player to discover how it works and improve from there. The first 4 zones range from easy to intermediate. I never felt like I couldn’t do a level and some required a good amount of thinking for a solution. The fifth zone, which is unlocked after you beat the other 4, is very difficult. I could only beat a handful of levels and ended up calling it quits at that point. I did glitch more than once and got stuck in a freefall animation while being on the ground. This forced me to restart the level. Luckily the levels are short so there’s not much frustration had. Pros +Buttery smooth 60fps +Scaled to 1440p nicely +Nice colorful visuals +Great learning curve and teaching of mechanics +Fun short levels +I actually wanted to collect the collectables Cons +Pressing “Y” to retry a level on my Xbox controller didn’t work +Got stuck in a freefall while on the ground more than once +Majority of the achievements are speedrun related +Controls could be tighter and more responsive (personal preference) While the $9.99 price seems high, it’s definitely a fun puzzle game to pick up if you enjoy the genre. I’d absolutely recommend it in a bundle or when on sale. 7/10 Good. Above average
Cool game mechanics, but having multiple monitors I kept losing my mouse to my left monitor and it would lower the game despite it being in fullscreen. So, honestly I can't recommend. That was infuriating.
Nah. Didn't do it for me. There are many other platform games I'd much rather be playing, and that's not even considering the fact that I'd normally rather play other kinds of games.
Pretty fun little game. Not worth the 10$ though. It's big issue is that it doesn't seem to get harder after 15 or so levels.

Movement should be smoother and levels should be bigger. I got bored after the first 15 levels.
Definitely a interesting platformer with an interesting concept. I discovered it at a game show and decided to get it.

Magnetic By Nature is a puzzle platformer made by Team Tripleslash Q in 2015 and is available for $1.50 Australian. While Magnetic by Nature has seen low reviews and playtime since release, I highly suggest purchasing this title due to its low cost, unique gameplay, beautiful artstyle, creative puzzles, music & collectable challenges.
Gameplay
Magnetic by Nature revolves completely around Magnetism that the player must use to traverse each level across 5 stages. Each stage contains new backdrop visuals and around 10 levels. Each level contains a single flower (collectable) and a single exit portal. Collecting all Collectables will reward you with a skin if that is something you wish to chase. As you progress through the stages, more gameplay elements will reveal themselves. In the beginning, the player can only utilise the Attract and Retract mechanic on static or mobile anchors. These anchors will only appear in three states. Attract (Blue), Retract (Red) and a combination of the two (Red and Blue) that allows the player to use both actions on the same anchor, opening the puzzle up to momentum and boost like tactics. As you progress through the stages, movable orbs and balls will start to appear in each level that you can utilise to complete the test and reach collectables. Magnetic by Nature features no combat and is simply a platforming puzzle game. For those who want combat, I suggest you look elsewhere but for those that want a casual, simple and stunning platformer to pass the time, Magnetic by Nature is the game for you.
