When a developer shows up with another collectible card game at this day and age, you really need to bring something new to the table. Something that makes us wonder why MTG or Hearthstone didn't think of this before. And this is where MagicQuest stumbles. MQ is that scruffy late-comer to the party, who shows up with yet another pasta-salad, while everyone else has moved on to the desserts. The awe-inspiring moment has passed by. In this game, you draw a hand of five cards, to build an army of four "minions" and let them duke it out against your opponent's army of four. Guess who wins. Granted, this setup is unusual to say the least. The strangely imposed four-summons limit, effectively rules out the charm of manic "weenie madness" decks, or solid mid-tier defense decks. Instead, the winning strategy seems to be that of stuffing your deck with power cards, and pummelling your opponents into bloody submission. Thus, the vast array of pretty-but-underpowered cards are doomed to languish in the depths of your collection. It's a strategy, alright. But not a very inspiring one. At the end of every turn, you discard your entire hand. This makes it impossible to hold on to a promising card, that might come in useful at a later point. In MQ, it's right here and right now. A card not spent, is one card wasted. MQ often pits you against opponents with HP in excess of hundreds! Thus, cards that typically deliver a measly two to four damage will rarely make it into your deck. These cards may be pretty, but lack any type of impact or usefulness in the actual gameplay. In MQ, it's all about muscle, baby. Unless the developers change the balance of MQ, the game is in dire risk of degenerating into a mad dash for power cards, with little room for experimental-but-fun deck builds. MQ is a new game that needs to find its footing, but as it stands right now, it's Bambi on ice. Despite its impressive graphics and sweet polish, I simply cannot bring myself to give it any more favorable recommendation, than that of "wait and see."

Fast fantasy card game, easy to learn and also free.
First impressions, It is okay. The cards look pretty nice and the sound effects are passable. Only played for 4 hours so I dont have a very deep understanding of the game yet. Pretty simple gameplay with 4 card slots, accumulating mana each turn and a rotationg choice of 5 cards from your deck to play. I would say it is very luck based and very dependant on high stats cards, which for me became apparent at around mission 30 where I have a hard time progressing without getting better cards. So I dont know if I hit a pay wall or if I have to grind out the cards from someplace else. A lot of real money hooks are out there. But I think paying a bit is fine if the game is good. I spent some 4 euros to buy a couple of chests, just out of courtesy for the game makers and to try out what I get.. I got some cards that I can not use with the Nature deck you start out with(or get first), and it seems that every class is tied to a certain deck, which is a bit of a shame, because it narrows down the building options a lot, since you cant seem to mix the cards from different spheres. Just the Mercenary type that goes with every other type of deck. Dungeons also have some other premade decks which is also a bit of a shame, since if I would keep playing this game and get better decks I would prefer to build my own decks there as well. PvP and Raids I can not say anything about since I have not tried it. Anyway, I will thumb it up, since I did find it enjoyable and I might update this review if I play more.
When I saw pay to have more turn, I knew something was wrong... It's sad, cause you want to charge people to get more turn... I've win some without paying, but at some stage ( where I'm currently in , Stage 50 ) it look like you gotta pay to win.... so I will leave a dislike... I would had rather play a week end for free and buy the game than paying 0.99 each time I come across an harder stage.... duh. Don't wanna call it a scam... more like a pay to win or pay to have a chance to win... really weird.
At least the developers of the game wants this game to be fun and enjoyable and it is. I hope the developer keeps working on this game it has a lot of potential to be a great game. I had a problem with a quest not being winnable and the developers made it possible to go on & win it. I changed my review to be positive because the developers don't seem to want to force people to pay money to continue. The league is set up so you gain a little gold even if you lose the match. I am giving this game a second chance to prove to me that it is free to play and not pay to play or pay to win. As long as this game is playable I'll keep my review positive. And in the future if I run into a wall I will try to contact the developers in the steam game forum & try to get it fixed before I change my review back to negative.
You can try this game, but prepare to be disappointed. Start is very slow. The tutorial is obligatory. The combat system is slightly different from other games. Gameplay is also slow and lacks energy. Or you can say that this game is very calming and you actually like it. At least it's free to try.
Magic PEST
Basic game system is fine, but otherwise it's pretty generic and slow progression if you don't want to pay... Out of the simillar card games from the developer, this one is perhaps the least interesting/innovative
