Very good. although if you alt tab, the game instantly crashes
The game crashed when I completed the first and easiest tutorial mission, the controls feel thorny, and I know there's something great underneath all that because of all the buttons to click and the standards of the 1990s weren't as...intuitive as nowadays (so it's unfair holding this game to modern standards), but that said, it feels like I need to do actual WORK to overcome the learning curve, and I'm just not in the mood for WORK. I think I'd really like it with all the detail and buttons, doubly since from the couple screenshots I see, the campaign is the sort I would drool over, the likes of which I wish more modern games would imitate, it just feels weird to (for example) do a spacebar-enter combo to get distance measurement of the target then fire at said target. Points for realism, but pulling it off as a game (and still missing; guess that's the tradeoff of the main gun being smoothbore and not rifled), and the mouse control is just yeowch. Maybe I'd be forgiving if I acquire the figurative "acquired taste", but until then, it's left a bad taste in my mouth.
I really gave it a shot. But game would crash every time I finished first mission. Would not save my progress. Tried all graphic options. Great game if you only want to play one mission.
It, and its predecessor, M1 TP 1, are classics.
Works on Windows 11 without issue, I am on an AMD cpu and Nvidia gpu. It takes me back and still an enjoyable tanksim which carry me over until GHPC arrives in September.
Finally something good happened! A very good tank simulation game that still seeks its worthy competitor today. No current live service Simulator has such accuracy or combined arms function like M1 Tank Platoon II. I played this game (before its Steam release!) for hundrets of hours and it never gets boring! In terms of its Steam release play this game with using nGlide 2.10 it will run smooth then. Still the old graphics but this is fine! So all in all still a worthy game to have if you are a tank simulator enjoyer!
Comes with an inbuilt emulator, which smoothes the experience on Windows 11. In terms of actual gameplay experience, it’s very good. Air support and Arty support is easy to call in, providing quick and accurate support. Missions are a challenge, but still very fun to play, at least after you have mastered the Abrams’ Fire Control System, which is easy to learn. Commanding other units is a breeze too!
