"M doll" is like nothing you've ever played before, folks. It's like if David Lynch and Hideo Kojima had a lovechild, and then that lovechild grew up to make a movie, but then that movie became a game. Mind-blowing, right? The interactivity of the film is top-notch. You can jump into scenes and explore them in both third and first person, and you can even play/pause the cutscenes and listen to director commentary. It's like having a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the movie, without having to sit through a boring extra on the DVD. The soundtrack is also killer, with tracks by Yeltsin Is Illuminati, Eithereor X, and Cementimental, to name a few. And the visuals? Let's just say that playing this game in 4k and with the DVD++ or VHS++ options is a real treat for the eyes. But just a heads up, this isn't a game for the faint of heart. There's some mature content in there, including veiled nudity and a few very short instances of brief nudity. But hey, it's all in the name of art, right? Overall, "M doll" is a must-play for anyone looking for something truly unique and mind-bending. Just make sure you've got a beefy computer and a strong stomach before diving in.

Solo developer and filmmaker created an interactive movie, arranged for it to have at least four soundtracks (I think there's 5-6?), a ton of visual configs, and the ability to press buttons to toggle visual styles or soundtracks. You get to see the raw unity "sets" where the scenes take place. There is commentary to walk you through how the movie works and how it was made. Watching the movie / playing this "game" is like an exercise in art direction, seeing in real time how your audio/video/postprocessing/other choices affect your experience. There's nothing else like this (My playtime is low because I spent most of my time with this movie on a different platform (itch.io) when it first came out last year)
The weirdest ♥♥♥♥ ever made, but very impressive overall. The first half of the scenes are rather goofy and slow, but it gets pretty action packed. My friends and I gave this a go for its strangeness, but ended up being hooked on what happens next. It was wild. The plot is a depiction of todays society and its media/substance consumption from what I understand. Every scene itself has a basic 3D version you can roam around in and interact with, with developer commentary. Theres also so many music tracks. The amount of work put into this is quite insane, for being free. I imagined how fun it would be if that whole thing was made into a huge hack and slash sandbox game.
I couldn't finish it. It's not as interesting as it wants to be. Around 10 minutes in, you start to see that it's hiding it's shortcomings behind it's "artsy weird" label. Not necessarily a deal-breaker, but it contributes to the feeling of impatience one gets watching this. It's runtime is padded by overly-long shots unwarranted for what they contain. The exploration mode is a strange addition that doesn't add much aside from allowing you to further see the jank. The commentary is rambling and fails to deliver any interesting insights, starting by going on and on about filmmaking 101 and then explaining plot elements on a very plain surface level. Bottom line, it just desperately needs an editor. Cut down to the core elements and it could be interesting. As it is now, you'll be struggling to follow anything due to a lack of patience rather than any deep meaning.
Digital non-interactive art/movie with some interactive parts built-in, created by one person, featuring pretty bizarre/unique/original visuals and concepts which can sometimes border grotesque or explicit visuals. There's also an excellent/ambient soundscape. The main concept or twist, is that you can pause and "leave" the non-interactive movie, for as long as you want to, and have the opportunity to see the same world/scene you're currently witnessing in the movie (albeit less complex or beautiful and heavily optimized to achieve normal and smooth frame rates), but in real-time - comparable to a first-person game -, which of course allows you to go and jump in complete freedom while looking at the movie world around you, but from completely different vantage points. You can also use in-world objects to toggle background music or commentary from the developer regarding the concept and some of the things that were going on during the creative and development process. I found this experience very interesting, with (usually) beautiful graphics and atmospheric lighting (although quality/esthetics can vary), music definitely fitting the surreal world and some parts were really good, evocative, there's even a full-blown fight scene, an atmosphere filled with tension and an overall and explicit weirdness, All this occurs in a world reminding me of industrial spaces and cyberpunk. I also loved the start menu/interface. I don't think it's something that you would re-watch multiple times, most people will probably watch it one time or maybe two times. I would recommend this to everyone with an interest in non-interactive digital art in general, and people who can appreciate surreal and dark worlds and are not offended by a little bit of explicit or maybe some grotesque visuals or situations. Definitely not for children.
This is really amazing surreal cyberpunk movie with possibility to explore the scenes as an orb.
Kostenloser Schrott... nicht einmal den Platz auf der Festplatte wert. Kein Spiel an sich. Nur ein Film den man pausieren und dann die Szene erkunden kann + Audiokommentare...
Good movie, Abraham! If you don't want to download 18gbs or don't have the specs to play this interactive film, you can watch a few different versions on YouTube. Though, I do recommend the interactive version mostly because you can mess with the settings (like soundtrack and filters) and I wish everything I watch had that option now. The director of this is and has always been ahead of his time, but I hope more people use game engines for films like this and Killer Bean because I think it's the most interesting way that currently exists. As for the film itself, I guarantee you've never seen anything like it. It might scare you because it's a totally new thing, but give it a chance. It's beautiful.
игра хорошая, если закинуться грибами перед запуском, определенно лайк
