About
You are the leader of a tribe → village → city → state. You guide your tribe of hunter-gatherers starting from 10,000 years ago.
You discover farming and become the leader of a village. As the population in the region grows, conflicts arise. By 5,000 years ago, you master copper and bronze technologies, crafting weapons. Villages evolve into cities, and a cultural rise is followed by the decline of war.
You are now the leader of a city. Cities wage war against each other, but is it possible to conquer and unite them by force into a single state? To become a king, a Lugal, you need legitimacy. A barbarian may have strength, but how do you gain the recognition of the people?
In a quest for legitimacy, you invent the technology of the "state." To prove that you are the chosen one, you build a Great Ziggurat. When people recognize your not only material but also moral superiority - then you will become a king, a Lugal.
Have you ever wondered why ancient people built massive ziggurats and pyramids? Did they have nothing better to do with their time and energy? Now, as a king, the answer will come to you naturally.
Everything we love about the survival genre: start as a prehistoric tribe, discover technologies, gather resources, craft weapons and armor, and build a base.
Simple automation. NPC villagers work on your farms, bake bread, and support your settlement’s economy.
Enemy raids. Hostile settlements send raids, forcing you to build defensive walls and towers.
Organize your own raid. Craft a siege hammer to breach enemy city walls and plunder their resources.
Bosses are cities, not some giant monsters. Conquer all cities in the region to become a Lugal, the Ruler of all Four Corners.
Heroic questline for legitimacy. One thing is to defeat another city, but how do you convince it to submit to you? Appoint a governor? If your army leaves the conquered city, it will rebel. You must naturally invent the "state" technology and build your empire.
While prioritizing gameplay over realism, we’ve incorporated historical references. Travel back 10,000–4,500 years ago to the fertile valley of Mesopotamia, the region of ancient Sumer and Babylon. How did people transition from simple nomads to a sedentary lifestyle? And most importantly—why? How did a handful of primitive farmers give rise to civilization? How did the invention of farming and the discovery of clay, copper, and bronze technologies transform the economic structure of the entire planet? Before starting this project the game’s producer worked closely with historians and published a historical book, which provided strong inspiration for creating a game set in the Bronze Age.
Historians often focus on dates and events, but why did people do what they did? Through the game’s questline, deep philosophical reflections are subtly woven in. Primitive people were completely free, but their lives were harsh, short and full of danger. They sacrificed some of their freedom for civilization, making their lives safer and materially richer. They ate better and lived longer. They gained free time to think, but what did they realize? Now, humans are the property of civilization and its political hierarchy. Material wealth bred inequality and envy. Abundance allowed for more lives and increased population density, but this brought conflicts and brutal wars. The bronze economy gave rise to slavery. Yes, slavery spares the life of the defeated, but isn’t a person willing to give their life for freedom? The game portrays a rarely shown period of history—the transition from a primitive state to the first forms of government. Don’t we, people of the 21st century, ponder the same philosophical questions?

There's a lot of competition in this space. It looks technically functional, but in the first ten minutes I ran into two eyebrow-raising things: * The "spear attack" is a swing. A swing, for a spear. You literally could have either picked a knife, dagger, short sword, club, or literally anything that would work with that animation, or have a piercing animation. Come on, that's sloppy AF. * "Ooga booga" as an NPC's response. And dialogue that sounds intentionally stilted and unintelligent. They're not speaking English naturally - we're translating - so why did you choose to go with that kind of dialogue? The developers went to the trouble of showing heiroglyphs before translating to my preferred language. That looked super cool. I can even handle the fact that it looks like it was designed to run on a toaster. But if you're going to be this sloppy with animations (which I COULD forgive in EA) and dialogue (which I refuse to forgive in dialogue), then any hopes I have for the title falls right out. Thumbs down, team. Do better.
The game has great potential and is the exact kind of game I like. BUT.... CO-OP is crap. I got the game with my spouse. His works great, mine doesn't at all. I got stuck in the first quest where you need to build a fire, foundation and such. Did all that and the quest wouldn't clear out. Then I decided I would just gather materials instead and clear the enemy camps. But I am unable to pickup the loot they drop. So I decided to close the game and restart my computer to see if that helped, nope. Uninstall the game and reinstall, nope. I cant even get back into CO-OP. It loads a screen with a nature scene and that is all. I know the game is still working out its kinks but not being able to play or use something that specifically says "fully functional" is very frustrating. So hopefully that all gets fixed. I will try again tomorrow.

Ea-Nasir where is my cooper?!
There is early-access and then there is too early early-access. This is definitely too early. I do however like the concept and I do think the game could have some nice potential but only time will tell. I can't recomend buying the game at this point but maybe later into development.
Look... maybe I've been burned by one too many early access games.. but all things considered, I like it. It really didn't feel too laggy, at least for an early access. The game play was thoughtful and clearly some time was put into researching a unique period of history. Its a little too easy right now to cheese enemy camps with bow and arrow. But the raids keep me on my toes. I think if the developer works on these points (making raids more interesting and cleaner/ and making enemy camps more responsive) that will be the best use of their time.
The game has great potential. Of course, it still requires a lot of work, but it is still in Early Access. The concept of starting as a tribe and founding a state is excellent because the sense of progression is tangible. It would be great to see further development of the diplomatic aspect—relations and wars with other city-states—as well as domestic politics, construction and buildings, combat, interpersonal relationships, and finally, a new map that better reflects Mesopotamia. I hope the game continues to grow for a long time, as a Bronze Age survival game is something I’ve long wished for. Keep up the good work.
very laggy at the moment almost unplayable maybe give it a few months
Awesome survival sandbox game! I like that I can turn a small tribe into a civilization. Lots of building options, vast world, like the posibility not only to build, but also a wage wars with other tribes. The devs really nailed the vibe of ancient Babylon. Like it, big thanks!
