QT-1
It’s too stereotypical for me. The name Lucy with all the connotations or flashing the Asimov’s three rights of robotics right there at the start. I’ve always been impressed how much he was able to convey with these three basic statements, but that was back in 1950 and now is now. Then, there’s the protagonist who is prejudiced against robots and finds the titular Lucy discarded on the scrapyard. He obviously, and despite his repeatedly proclaimed distrust for robots, takes Lucy home, she predictably turns out to be compatible with the USB chargers and an unavoidable slapstick scene of her imprinting on the protagonist as her master follows. At that point I’ve resigned myself to the narrative. And then the game crashed as I’ve tried to alt-tab to write this mess of a review down.
EM-5
Lucy’s graphics are somewhere above decent but below great. The menus are pretty and nicely animated; the locations look excellent, there’s plenty of them, and they often appear in day and night variants as well. The characters’ design is as mid as they get, but they don’t stick out too much in windowed mode. On the other hand, full-screen is a crudely stretched low-res. There are achievements, but they are in-game only and not integrated with Steam. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3757463297 Voicing is available in Japanese and Korean. The Korean actress sounds generally acceptable, occasionally descending into a cold-blooded office lady in her forties (who attempts to sound thirties) but outside of those moments, she’s fine. Music is, just like the graphics, enjoyable. And I am saying this from the perspective of constantly alt-tabbing out and writing this review with Lucy’s music in the background. Quality chillout.
NS-10
Writing is uneven. It’s extremely dated by the standards of 2026 and painfully naïve regardless of the reference point in the human history past Beowulf. For most of the story I’ve felt that there was absolutely no reason for Lucy to be a robot. This entire tale could have been any feel good ‘guy reluctantly rescues girl, gets over his prejudice, and then they fu… unction like a mature and responsible couple ’ kind of story. No need to quote Asimov’s Big 3 a few times every hour, which this game does with passion. There is a very good exchange every now and then, but it’s surrounded by three or four absolutely mediocre ones every time. Furthermore, narration provides absolutely no nuance. There are no significant moral dilemmas and the game’s perspective clearly shows who is right and who is wrong. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3757461130 It’s definitely personal taste, but I’ve absolutely hated how Lucy kept referring to herself in the third person singular (eg. “Lucy was afraid all this time” instead of “I was afraid...”) and called the protagonist “Master.” Sorry, not sorry. My anarchist, free will kink kicking in. At certain points, I’ve had the feeling that the game should have been giving me a choice – even if it only resulted in a few lines of text leading straight into the bad ending – while the story kept on rolling. Instead, the game offers numerous decisions that carry absolutely no meaning. Furthermore, I fundamentally disagree with the interpretation of that one, final choice that locks the ending. But, regardless of the outcome that the player gets, the post-credits scenes are extensive and well-worth mentioning. Finally, repeatedly, throughout this entire story, and I cannot overstate it, the protagonist character is a c#&t. Consequently, it’s not my cup of tea, but not a bad tea either. And since I do enjoy black, green, white, pu-erh, oolong and such, I swing rooibos and (obviously) kombucha, this must be some sort of matcha or something. Someone will find it enjoyable. Anyways, since I’m obviously rambling at this point, do with this review what you will and, as always
Try to have a wonderful life. 작품에 대한 열의가 굉장히 선명하게 전해졌고 지금 이시대에 맞는 게임
小时候玩的,比较短,画面也还行。不错的故事
I found this title to be a good read, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it was enjoyable. The story here centres on a (I assume) high school student that lives alone with his father. One day he discovers an android in a junkyard, and by some weird reasoning I don't fully comprehend (as he and his father are heavily anti-android) he brings it home, eventually powering it up and forking out considerable wealth to get it fixed. The good: Great writing and believable characterisations, decent art and full voice acting in either Korean or Japanese. ___________ I see a lot of positive reviews for the game, and mine is no exception. But the review system on steam is fundamentally flawed and, while I do recommend it, I do have my fair share of criticisms. As I mentioned, the writing infers a deep anti-android mentality in this dysfunctional family, and yet here he is bringing a broken one home. So the whole premise is outlandish to begin with. I get the feeling there is some lost-in-translation info here. While it is undeniable that the main characters are well-written, the MC and the father are utterly hateful. I spent my time reading through the game not really ever feeling like I cared for either of them. Part of this problem is exacerbated by worthless dialogue choices. Nothing you choose ever seems to matter, like the story is all paved in stone and Cannot Be Altered In Any Way. There are two endings as far as I could see, but they are identical, except for how the ensuing epilogue plays out, which is technically in the extras. So, 'choices' seem only put in as an afterthought, likely so the in-game achievements could be a thing. From my experience, by doing a playthrough with android-friendly choices, and another with the opposite, I found most achievements were a no-brainer. Pacing was a real issue for me as well. Even selecting fast text in the menu, screen transitions really bogged down the pacing, not to mention being punched in the face with the list of 3 fundamental robot rules every time there was a scene change. Even on the second playthrough I found the skip button worthless as scene transitions still needed an input to continue. I feel I could cut my play time in half just by making transitions skippable. _____________ Probably the most interesting thing about sci-fi VNs such as this is the philosophical debates and internal thoughts we are privy to. While this isn't a love story per se, and love doesn't even get a mention, we are left with some interesting questions that perhaps will divide nations now and in years to come. Questions like 'do androids have feelings?' or 'would you fall in love with a washing machine?' The game explores the ideas, mostly in 'study vs work' arguments between the MC and his father. The ideas presented maybe aren't explored enough. Why can't you befriend an android (if they existed)? Consider society today, accepting of all walks of life and sexual orientations. Is a memory chip different from organic memory? Sure, parts breakdown, but so too does DNA and our own bodies over time. Aren't we all just machines, a slave to our own programming (be it genetic or electronic)? It's such a big topic to touch on and this VN has done pretty well to treat it the way it has. In some ways we're already in the grips of a similar issue with AI. Ultimately, despite the shortness, despite the transitions and unlikeable male characters, I kept on reading. Just don't go into this game thinking there are choices, I feel there isn't any. But there is a nice twist at the end, if you can see it through. Get it on special as it can be short if you're a fast reader.
PEAK NOVEL...
otimo enredo, bom roteiro, otima historia, no geral é um jogo maravilhoso.
я теперь типа хикки. спасибо
