About
Venture deep into the woods surrounding the outskirts of Loveland Ohio to find... your missing fast food order (of course it got lost again)!
In this short but sweet 2d puzzle platformer play as a character inspired by the famous cryptid: The Loveland Frog.
Traverse simple yet perplexing obstacles, swing across platforms, collect flies, and leap over gaps while admiring the magical aesthetic designed by our team here at Alcove Devs (unofficial).
Will you uncover all three endings? And who is this princess person really?!
Loveland's Leap was originally produced for Godot Wild Jam #70. After that initial (very broken) release, we continued working until it was ready to share with the world. We only gave ourselves a summer to create this game, but we hope you fall in love with the beautiful sprites, atmospheric music, and hand-painted watercolor backgrounds just like we did.
We invite you to play for free, as well as learn from, explore, and even modify the code at our linked GitHub repository, since all our code is open source!

my dearest wife left me due to this game. i spent too long listening to that beautiful frog licking and jumping all over the place. the fact that this game lets me lick all the wood that i want, no matter the size, makes me so inexplicably (i know it is able to be explained, but only through poetry) happy. to follow is a poem that explains what this game means to me. the only way i get off these days is by forcing a digital frog to lick logs my wife doesn't like it it has ruined our intimate physical life i am beholden to no one but this frog it makes me whole and licks my hole wood all around big, small, rotund blender it fills my soul with whimsy and lust i leap because this land is filled with love.

Beautiful original soundtrack. I could tell that absolutely no mistakes were made when the music was played live, and it was definitely recorded in a consistent and properly soundproof environment. HIGHLY recommend you play with Classic Verburging ON!!! It's a game changing experience.
Loveland's Leap follows a cute frog who navigates a forest filled with obstacles by swinging from its tongue. From the first frog-shaped loading screen onward, the love and care that went this game are apparent in its beautiful watercolor backgrounds, its slightly discomforting sound effects, and its tongue-in-cheek (or out-of-cheek as the case may be) humor. The game is short and sweet, a perfect evening of fun for fans of platformers, but there is also a lot of depth to the movement mechanics that leaves lots of room for replayability. Loveland's Leap isn't packed with hundreds of hours of content, but the hour or two that it does have are a solid 10/10 experience. Brilliant work, Alcove Devs! P.S. Sequel when?
Bu 2 boyutlu bulmaca platform oyununda ormana atlayın, sallanın, sinekleri bulun ve basit zeka oyunlarını çözün. Su, renkli arka planlar ve kalimba temalı müzik unutulmaz bir hikaye kitabı atmosferi yaratırken ağaçların sizi sarmasına izin verin.
Amazing game, but I think they should tell you about the "live frog reaction" in the tutorial. It's really difficult otherwise D:
Good game tbh nice job, I like the frog tongue and swing mechanic, good music too
Loveland's Leap is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This platformer might be a student project or something, I don't know. It was an objective failure, with primitive graphics, lacklustre gameplay and poor level design. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. It's important to note that, despite this being such a low quality product, there's a number of positive reviews that all appeared immediately after the game launched, from suspiciously inactive Steam accounts that have reviewed almost no other games apart from this. Take the review score of this game with a grain of salt. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
