this game has a really cool pixelated style, plays very well, and has some good music only complaint is that once i get all the balloons, after a few minutes the game crashes, but aside from that, the game is really good, and now that it's free i recommend it more than ever
Before I played Lorera, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good

Read this if you have control issues at the start of the game.
Mini metroidvania / search action platformer where you get a cool cosmetic upgrade with each new ability. The game felt awful to play at the start. Kept moving sluggishly since I thought the vine had natural physics. Only later did I figure out how to use it properly. If you have difficulty with the controls, use the initial vine swing as a one direction air dash. Swing once in one direction, don't swing back and forth. If you miss your target, reset the swing with a preceding run on the ground. This technique should allow more people to enjoy the good adventure here.

"Lorera" is a great and charming little metroidvania with gorgeous pixel-art and a nice, position-based grappling mechanic, where you play a plant-gal traversing the world and growing along the way as they get new abilities. Movement is something to get used to for you cannot swing during grapple and have to rely on your momentum (it gets easier and more fluent later on with upgrade-progression). Also there are some weird difficulty spikes, which may be offputting for some. It is nonetheless a solid title in terms of gamedesign and atmosphere that can be completed blindly in around 1,5 hours. A great and earnest experience that waits for you to grab it, its free by now! (Had a small pricetag before, which I would have paid!)
This game is awesome, straight up. Hard to believe it's free. However, it's NOT FOR EVERYONE. If you don't like a very hard challenge and tough to learn controls, you should avoid playing this cause you will just be frustrated. - The CONTROLS are hard to learn but worth it, the grappling hook and all the momentum that comes from using it is complex by nature, the controls only replicate that complaxity. - The LEVEL DESIGN is fantastic, with several interesting ideas and well placed baloon collectibles, which unlock a pretty cool thing once you get them all. - The only real criticism I have is that the game never doesn't have a TUTORIAL to teache you what all the powers do, specially the last one that can propel your pendulum momentum further. They simply suggest that it could, but a proper teaching session would work much better. - The STORY is surprisingly great, only happening in the end,but pretty awesome. - GRAPHICS are solid. - LENGTH is not too long and not too short, can't ask for more from a free game. Lasted me about 4 hours. - Given that it's free I give this a 9/10

this would probably play better on M+KB but is super awkward using twin sticks. The game is clearly designed for the user to use multiple vine swings quickly, but you've locked in that movement as soon as you've aimed the vine. you can't actually "swing" on a vine like you could a swing.
This is a short but interesting game with a grapple hook platforming mechanic. Some of the level design is a bit frustrating at times due to sparse checkpoints, but if you catch this on sale it is worth the couple of dollars it costs. EDIT: Seeing as this has become a free game, there is literally no reason to not pick it up and give it a shot.
