Before the game starts, you will choose a faction. Each faction has several positive or negative attributes, such as having head start on specific researches, cheaper market prices, stronger or weaker soldiers and more. While in game you can pick your school of magic that determines what kind of spells your spell book will have access to. Each school of magic has a different theme with a set of spells associated with it.

During the game, you will manage your economy and ensure your people have enough to eat and have decent housing. Houses can be upgraded to have higher income and hygiene but also require more needs and luxuries, such as furniture, clothing or decorations.

Create your own custom maps, campaigns or mini scenarios with the ingame editor and share them with other people!

The game is built to support as many languages as possible, you can volunteer to help translate the entire game into your native language (or any language you are fluent in). Localizing maps and campaigns is also possible.
!!! Please keep in mind localization is community-driven. There may be words missing or wrongly translated as the translation lags behind development !!!

I nearly went over my limit just trying to go through the broken tutorials. The campaign is locked behind their completion, and the game isn't clear inside itself on any one function. No right click for ingame help or help section inside, no wiki, no manual, nothing. IS it fun? kind of. It's very knight and merchants and settlers like. Could it be great? probably wont be earth shattering if everything was complete. Would i buy this again? Yes, but i would want: Free play with ai more help inside the game at a glance, like right clicking on a building to learn more about it bug free tutorials Is it worth $20? no now, could be though. All in all, its a decent game but it needs updates and support to be playable and enjoyable. Otherwise, i'd recommend just going and playing stronghold classic or crusader. I'm willing to change my review if certain conditions are met.
Inspired by old time classic The Settlers 4 plus Knights & Merchants , this game brings back great memories. I enjoyed my time spent building my little town which involves resource gathering and production chains. The aesthetic of pixalated graphics is welcomed along with an amazing soundtrack. Its in early access therefore i await for more features, more production chains to be added in the future. Diplomacy needs some work. You can also do multiplayer skirmiches. Overall great game, i urge you give it a go. If you enjoyed Settlers series you will like this one too. Gameplay video below: https://youtu.be/whpFJKln26Q
Wait for a few patches. So far in to the game i have no spent much time, but i don't think i need to as of now. There are 3 tutorials that go over bare minimum of what you can do in the game, and all 3 of them broke in some way requiring me to restart multiple times to just pass them. The game is incredibly picky as sometimes workers just seemingly do nothing. Third tutorial asks you to collect 15 of 3 types of food, i had 25 and one hour later the game was still stuck. So i instead went to mission 1, where after taking care of the enemy of the map i wanted to do the objective. There is a disease in town and there is no apotechary in the mission [first Tutorial also has no apotechary but no disease spawns] so i guess you just deal with it. Then the population complained about lack of food, while protesting, they did not work so food was not made, so it just dissolved into a loop. Its to say the least, a bit more than jank. But i like the animations, but unfortunately the game seems only half playable [the Demo that was up was not playable at all, so i had to buy the game to play it anyway] Its visually well done and i like the concept, but until it actually becomes playable i don't think i can really have an opinion until much of this changes. EDIT: One idea that came to mind and where lot of frustration with worker efficency can come in [apart from them just not doing nothing at times like builing] is because they are solid and completely occupy a tile, units and workers just stand still. One way, and this is how Stronghold Warlords does it, is only the enemy units and workers are solid. So a suggestion is to make Workers and Soldiers of the same team non solid, as to allow smoother movement trough town, while enemy units can be solid so they can block of pathways and such. To me this could solve some of the headaches until AI pathing and, order they build things is sorted out.
OMG it's Knights and Merchants! I played that game for agesss when i was younger. This one feels easier though at the start or I became less of an idiot. Regardless it's cool and should get more attention. Dev: some advice put your game more on sale regularly (2weeks per sale) not becuase full price is not worth it even if you do 20% off all the times! Still will bring you more traffic, and people and this game deserves that. Here is a video with more gameplay and some narration: https://youtu.be/2Sjqdq3NFlk
Фига девка старательная! Жалко что с переводом игра вылетает, да и нет его, да и языка исходника нету, вообще ничего нетути. Игра красивая пипец, только звуки молоточков с толку сбивают. И поиск пути шляпа.
The potential is there. It does remind me of Knights and Merchants, like others said already. For this, I like it. BUT it has too many bugs the worst of which: I can't load my saved game. Also, it is so, so annoying that soldier cannot retreat once they detect and engage some enemy. It should be possible just like in the real world. Another bug related to archers: some of them get weird ammo stats: 238/15 arrow. Others 0/0. Once more of these bugs are fixed, I'll give it another shot. Until then, I cannot recommend it.
If you're a fan of strategy games with a touch of fantasy, you should definitely consider giving Lords of Solgrond a try. This game combines elements of real time strategy and city building, and includes some unique features as well. The animations are impresive, and the gameplay systems are inspired by the early middle ages, with additional magical and fantastical elements. Before you start playing, you'll get to choose your character and school of magic. Each character has various attributes that can affect your gameplay experience, and each school of magic has its own theme and associated spells. As you progress through the game, you'll need to manage your economy and ensure that your people have what they need to thrive. This includes food, housing, and other neccesities. You can even upgrade your houses to increase income and hygeine, but be aware that they'll also require more needs and luxuries like furniture and decorations. Lords of Solgrond has a lot of potential, with features like a campaign and online multiplayer promised by the developers. Overall, it's a game that strategy fans won't want to miss.
If I were a billionaire, I would have bought the game for 1000000000 and supported it so intensely and brutally because I think the game is awesome and I hope for more content after the release! <3
Loved it! A fresh view on good old Knights and Merchants. All those things KaM lacked — greater variety of resources, magic, variety of building forms and sizes, more tactical options, magic, ffs! Still a little bit buggy, but I hope that’s gonna go away. Great project, great potential. I wanna go back and play it even if it’s buggy. xD UPD: I reported a few bugs, and the next day there was an update that fixed exactly those bugs. Wow, just wow! Kudos to the devs. You won me over; I’m gonna buy all the DLC.
Feels like a mix between Age of Empires and a ltitle bit of Anno. Apparently it's much like Knights and Merchants, though I don't know the game myself so I wouldn't know. It's basically how I always played Age of Empires--gather resources, build a nice base--which is probably why I wasn't very good at that game. What I like about Lords of Solgrund is that it gives me a reason to decorate things. Appeal matters for your citizen's happiness, and there's an overlay to show you exactly which parts of your settlement look good or bad. It's the first time I've ever decorated my city in a city builder, because it actually matters here. Contact with the developer via Discord is also very fast, which makes it easy to follow along with development. Early access doesn't come without bugs, but seeing the progress shared in Discord gives me a lot of confidence that they'll all be fixed in due time.
