Simple and standard platformer that is quickly forgotten. There is no story or reason behind your acts. You're merely an adventurer looking to collect all the cherries across 21 stages. Each stage contains 100 cherries that need to be found by exploring everywhere. In addition to your basic movement, you can jump, dash, and attack to defeat enemies. Dash is useful for making longer jumps and destroying crates, but it can’t be used twice in a row quickly. There’s no visual clue so you don’t know when you can dash again. Because you can also wall-jump up any vertical wall, the game does not require precision. You can even save yourself from a missed jump by pushing into the edge of a platform and wall-jumping. Combat is bad because it’s hard to see if you’re dealing damage. Sometimes an enemy dies after a couple of hits, but next time you have to hit it several times. Enemies don’t have a clear attack so you might take damage without even knowing why. Stages are not that big and there are no secret walls, but you have no map. Although first half of stages has a maze-like layout where you always pick the wrong path that forces you to backtrack, it later drops them and makes them more linear and fun. Assets have no consistency because you have low-quality and high-quality pixel art on the same screen. Environments change a bit with rocky or snowy look and a handful of enemies will show up in all of stages. You do not have to find all cherries to complete a stage. If you don’t care about achievements, all you have to do is reach the chest in the end. This is easier said than done because of cheap threats. There are projectiles that go through walls, spikes that appear out of nowhere, you need to jump down into pits without knowing if they are safe, and so on. You can take a few hits, but there aren't almost no invincibility frames because you frequently lose several hearts at once. New hearts can be located throughout a stage, but because they can be grabbed even at full health, most of them are wasted.
A good 2D platformer with varying difficulty levels, featuring a bit of an old-school style and nice 8-bit music.
Nice game. Very good platformer with many different levels.
