Crystal Gaiden Origins captures the magic of the 8-bit era but with some modern touches that wouldn't have worked on the beloved NES. The pixel art is wonderful, the soundtrack is fantastic and the game play is fun with plenty of reasons to return after your initial playthrough. The level designs, enemies and bosses are all varied and keep it fun and interesting throughout it's 6 levels. This is one of those games that you absolutely have to play if you enjoy the era of gaming it draws it's inspiration from. For a sub-15-dollar game, I really enjoyed this. If you like doing time trials and other things, there are achievements for this, but I really enjoyed it; you can tell English was not the primary language used.

I definitely recommend it to all fans of old NES games and action platformers. The nostalgic 8-bit vibes come out nicely. Even the music is also a top banger with different ambience on every level. Gameplay wise it is very responsive and feels like you are playing a true 8-bit game. The levels have their own variation compared to each other and their own elements. The bosses have their own little difficulties and tricks to beat them while they at first seem to be overwhelming. The game has a demo which I recommend you to try out to find out yourself if you are hesitating about purchasing the game.

Only a few levels in and i can say this game brings a lot of nostalgia with its 8-bit style. The music is very reminiscent of the 90s games i grew up playing. Looking forward to finishing the game and finding all the secrets.

Lots of feats to collect, icons are cute as hell. Love the game.
