Searching for the term "platformer" on Steam gives you over 17,000 results... there's thousands and thousands of garbage tier platformers infesting Steam. "Little Dew Drop" fits right into that category of retro 2D shovelware glutting the Steam store. Only a tiny number of those are any good, and this isn't one of them. This simple and unambitious platformer is just a drop in the ocean (sorry, had to do it) of thousands of platformers on Steam. You control a water drop and you move through a forest to try find some sun, which will evaporate you and you'll die. Such is the circle of life... but yes, rather poorly conceieved concept, but that's fitting as the quality of this Unity platformer is equally poor. The platforming genre is pretty much obsolete... just a tiny number of professionally developed platformers exist on PC and offer any real value or interest to gamers (Silksong, etc). This is nowhere near being as good as Hollow Knight or Silksong. Even without a price tag, it's easy to see why gamers ignored this in favor of modern, professionally developed 3D games. This is offering nothing new or interesting, so it's easy to see why this failed. So this looks like an old 1990's Adobe Flash game that you might play in a web browser, and the problem there is obviously Steam wasn't intended to try compete with Chrome and Firefox. If it can be done in a web browser, it's not even close to a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That's a problem. The technical execution of this game is shallow and simplistic, just enough to tick the boxes required to get something (anything) published on Steam, rather than investing the huge amount of effort and budget needed to create a fully fledged, comprehensive, high quality product. This feels like a tech demo more than a full game. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. Next is pricing and what value this has for gamers. They have their hand out for a $1.50 USD "donation" for this as you're expected to give them money from buying empty DLC from Steam... digital panhandling. Like the homeless guys who splash dirty water on your windscreen at the traffic lights. No thanks. Even as a free game, this couldn't find an audience. With a peak of [b]only 4 players[/b], it's clear the Steam community took one look and walked away. They literally couldn't pay people to spend time playing this. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope, even if you don't have to pay any money up front, this isn't something I can suggest PC gamers spend their time on... there's thousands of better games on Steam. Finally, I'm here to help save gamers time by filtering out the noise and substandard games. If you don't agree with my assessment of the defects in this game, go ahead and download it... maybe you'll find the same defects to be as unacceptable as I did, maybe not. Even write your own review. Positive or negative, game reviews are here to help other gamers by informing their decisions on what to spend their time on.

Very sweet and heart-warming game

A lovely little game with nice, atmospheric music, and I liked the variety in level design, especially as the final level changed things up.

Simple nice little platformer with chill background music. Suitable for all ages. Only noticed one tiny hiccup, namely that sometimes the dew drop won't move left/right after falling or straight across two platforms. Otherwise it's a perfectly nice little game to spend a bit of time on (barely took me half hour to complete).

it's missing polish but it was fun. reminds me of old flash games. there are also some sick tricks u can do with sticking to some ceilings and (i assume unintended) walljumping
