I was browsing steam hunting for a new game. I was desperate. I bought this game. 5 minutes in. WTF, I love it! ♥♥♥
Developed and published by Tam Lab, Limitless Survivor is an action roguelite that successfully merges the fast-paced combat of the survivor genre with the satisfying progression of incremental and idle games. Rather than treating each run as an isolated challenge, the game builds every battle into a larger progression system where even unsuccessful attempts contribute to permanent growth. This design creates a rewarding gameplay loop that continually encourages players to return, become stronger, and push deeper into increasingly dangerous dungeons. While its core mechanics follow a familiar formula, the game introduces enough long-term progression systems to distinguish itself from many of its genre counterparts. Combat is centered on surviving relentless waves of enemies while collecting valuable resources and upgrading the character throughout each run. Crystals earned from successful expeditions can be invested into permanent stat improvements, ensuring that future attempts become more efficient and allowing players to steadily overcome previously impossible challenges. The game strikes a satisfying balance between immediate action and long-term planning, as every completed run contributes to a sense of continuous advancement. Players who enjoy watching their character evolve through persistent upgrades will likely find this progression system highly engaging. One of the strongest aspects of Limitless Survivor is its collection of permanent artifact rewards. Rare artifacts obtained during dungeon exploration provide lasting bonuses that remain active across future play sessions, making each discovery feel meaningful. The Prestige mechanic further enhances replayability by allowing players to reset portions of their progression in exchange for improved crystal gains and higher artifact drop rates. This familiar but well-executed reset system creates an addictive cycle of sacrificing current power for even greater long-term efficiency, rewarding players who enjoy optimizing their progression over dozens of hours. The game's customization options add another layer of strategic depth. Players can unlock and equip up to five different skills during each run, allowing them to build around specific playstyles or experiment with different combinations depending on their preferred approach. Equipment obtained from treasure chests features randomized affixes that can dramatically alter combat performance through effects such as explosive attacks, lightning chains, increased projectile counts, expanded attack ranges, and enhanced critical strikes. These randomized equipment bonuses help keep individual runs fresh by encouraging experimentation with different builds instead of relying on a single dominant strategy. Another notable feature is the inclusion of an auto-play system designed to streamline resource farming. Once players reach the stage where repetitive grinding becomes necessary, automation reduces the amount of manual repetition without removing the importance of progression decisions. This feature fits naturally into the incremental structure of the game, making long-term advancement feel less tedious while still preserving the satisfaction of building an increasingly powerful character. Additional achievement rewards that unlock new weapons, equipment, and abilities further encourage players to pursue every available objective. Visually, Limitless Survivor adopts a clean and readable presentation that prioritizes gameplay clarity during large-scale enemy encounters. Despite the increasing number of projectiles and visual effects appearing on screen, the battlefield generally remains understandable enough for players to react effectively. The user interface is straightforward and complements the game's emphasis on continuous progression by making upgrades, statistics, and resource management easy to follow. The developer also openly states that portions of the artwork, music, and programming were created with the assistance of AI-generated tools, offering transparency for players who may consider this information when making a purchasing decision. Although the game excels at delivering satisfying long-term progression, it remains heavily focused on repetition as part of its core design philosophy. Players looking for an elaborate narrative or constantly changing gameplay objectives may find the experience somewhat repetitive over extended sessions. However, those who appreciate incremental games, roguelites, and survivor-style combat will likely find the repetitive structure to be part of its appeal, as every completed run contributes tangible improvements that make future attempts noticeably more rewarding. Overall, Limitless Survivor delivers an enjoyable blend of action, persistent progression, and incremental mechanics that creates a compelling gameplay loop centered on constant improvement. Its permanent upgrades, artifact hunting, randomized equipment, flexible skill builds, Prestige system, achievement rewards, and optional automation all work together to encourage long-term engagement. While it does not radically reinvent the survivor genre, it successfully refines many of its established ideas into a polished and rewarding experience for players who enjoy building overwhelming power through continuous progression. Rating: 7/10
The start to mid game is pretty good and worth the price. BUT The end game is one of the worst for grinding and the most upside down progression I have played. If it weren't for the auto play I probably would have stopped around 5 hours. I doubt the game would be out if the ending progression was actually tested.
The game is pretty fun. The progression is a little slow at first but once you get to the higher stages it goes pretty smoothly. I like that the Prestige Gems are harder to get so you don't get to prestige each time you pick up a few.
ill hope that we will see updates in the future for this game - for the price? great little grinder game
