This could yet turn out to be a good game. But without some *serious* reformulation, I can't recommend it. I came in looking for a cozy lighthouse repair game. But the lighthouse is working from the beginning. It continually degrades. It devours oil at a rapid pace. Everything is timed, and the time-of-day display is unclear, both in the environmental cues and the GUI. Your ability to gather basic resources like stone and wood are sharply limited until you've obtained lava. It all adds up to a frustrating experience of perpetually fighting entropy, instead of the chill experience I wanted, quietly building up something I'm proud of. This is the kind of experience I have in real life, I don't need a game for that. Some things were nice. The graphics, the character controller, some of the UI felt good. Unfortunately, with the amount of time this game has been out, it seems unlikely that these things will be expanded upon, or that the problems will be addressed.
Tebrik ederim.
It could be a promising game but in this stage it's meahh. Needs more content and to be a little polished.
What a charming little gem. A wonderfully laid-back, calming, peaceful game. I really enjoyed playing it and found it completely stress-relieving. It has its issues, but my overall impression is very positive. You have your own sailboat, which you use to sail across the sea from island to island, from adventure to adventure. Design is colorful, imaginative, practical. The game includes riddles on the islands, which are variety-filled, creative, and not repetitive. Occasionally, a situation arises that can be a little frustrating. (For example, you are supposed to jump somewhere, but you keep falling, landing in water) But even this situation has a solution. You skillfully dock your boat and jump overboard to reach your desired destination. Problem solved. Overall, the game's storyline is harmonious and calming. No one will attack you anywhere. Even the sharks are harmless. You can't die or get hurt in the game. Not even if you fall off a cliff. I really liked the variously designed islands. An island with a cemetery, an island where farms are located. Typical pirate islands with treasures and shipwrecks. I sailed a sailboat, grew strawberries on my lighthouse island, and made jam out of it. You even have a cat, which you can feed and pet. Maintaining the lighthouse is done in the form of puzzle games. You repair the lighthouse when something breaks. Over time, however, the lighthouse becomes more and more self-sufficient because you repair it to perfection. I bought the game on sale for €1.50. Again, it's not a perfect game. But for that price? It's a fantastic bit of entertainment, set in a friendly, peaceful setting. A chilled-out game for leisure and relaxation.
I am a silly goose who got all the stabilizers first or attempted to visit all the islands before actually getting the specific quest. Would be cool if I could interact more with the NPC characters like trading with them for seeds and fish. There was a few glitches where after I finished a quest and accepted rewards from the first NPC, the second NPC or third one would not arrive on the boat to give me a new quest, even though it wasn't close to 6pm. The graphics are a bit clunky and sometimes the fish were swimming on top of the water lol.
Short and sweet, Lacks settings in the menu. would be nice if there was some accessability options, made the game a little annoying as someone who uses inverted controls. overall a cute little game pick it up on sale for a few hours of island exploration
Lighthouse Keeper is a calm, self-directed indie adventure that leans more toward atmosphere and routine than tension or danger. Developed and published by Stratera Games, it places the player in the role of a solitary caretaker tasked with restoring and maintaining a lighthouse on a remote island. From the very beginning, the game establishes a tone of quiet isolation, inviting players into a world where progress is measured not by combat victories or dramatic plot twists, but by steady improvement, exploration, and the satisfaction of bringing order back to a forgotten place. The core gameplay revolves around a loop of exploration, gathering, crafting, and maintenance. Players spend their time chopping wood, mining resources, fishing, farming, and repairing damaged structures, with the lighthouse itself serving as both a symbolic and mechanical centerpiece. Each repair feels tangible, reinforcing the sense that your presence is slowly transforming the environment. Unlike harsher survival games, Lighthouse Keeper avoids punishing mechanics; stamina and health systems are forgiving, allowing actions to be paced naturally rather than dictated by constant threat. This design choice encourages experimentation and relaxation, making the act of simply existing in the world feel rewarding rather than stressful. Exploration plays an important role in expanding the experience beyond the main island. With the ability to craft and use a small boat, players can venture out to neighboring islands, each offering new materials, environmental layouts, and subtle points of interest. These trips break up the routine of lighthouse maintenance and add a sense of discovery that keeps the game from becoming monotonous. While the islands are not densely packed with scripted events, their quiet mystery fits well with the game’s overall tone, encouraging curiosity and rewarding players who enjoy wandering off the main path. Progression in Lighthouse Keeper is understated but effective. Rather than relying on complex skill trees or layered systems, the game focuses on gradual improvement through better tools, expanded crafting options, and restored infrastructure. This simplicity allows players to set their own goals, whether that means fully repairing the lighthouse, optimizing resource production, or simply exploring every corner of the map. The absence of strict objectives gives the game a sandbox-like quality, where motivation comes from personal satisfaction rather than external pressure. Visually, the game adopts a clean and readable art style that prioritizes clarity over realism. The environments are pleasant to look at, with coastal landscapes, forests, and ruins arranged in a way that feels intentional and navigable. While animations and textures are modest, they serve their purpose well, supporting immersion without distracting from gameplay. Sound design complements this approach, using ambient effects and subdued music to reinforce the sense of solitude and calm. The world often feels quiet, but never empty, as if it’s patiently waiting for the player’s attention. That said, the game’s minimalism can be a double-edged sword. Players looking for deep mechanical complexity, strong narrative arcs, or constant novelty may find the experience too restrained. The lack of combat, dramatic story progression, or high-stakes survival elements means that engagement relies heavily on the player’s appreciation for routine and atmosphere. However, this restraint feels intentional, positioning Lighthouse Keeper as a meditative experience rather than a traditional survival challenge. In the end, Lighthouse Keeper succeeds by knowing exactly what kind of experience it wants to deliver. It is a gentle, methodical game that rewards patience, curiosity, and a willingness to slow down. By focusing on upkeep, exploration, and quiet progression, it creates a cozy sense of purpose that can be deeply satisfying for the right audience. For players who enjoy relaxed survival mechanics, open-ended exploration, and games that emphasize mood over intensity, Lighthouse Keeper offers a peaceful and memorable escape into solitude. Rating: 7/10
