About
Disclaimer: This game is a simple walking simulator with only one interaction. I aimed to create a meditative experience inspired by Camino de Santiago pilgrimage in Spain, but it didn’t turn out as planned. Reviews are negative, with players feeling it's a bit of a time waster, instead of taking it down from Steam, I’ve left it up. This was my first game, made in just three days, and it’s far from optimized. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend playing it.
Playtime: 2 minutes
You light the 11 candles. There is no sound, no one around. In the vast open world, a single monolith stands, marking your time in hell. The sole purpose is to keep the flame alive.
The game offers very simple gameplay. Players light 11 candles one by one and aim to light them all.
When all candles are lit, the ending appears and the game is complete.

"Light the Candles in Hell" is, well, I don't know if this is a serious attempt at making a game or not. If it is, it's a terrible idea. If it's not, it's a terrible idea, why spend $100 on a Steam Direct joke? Like it says on the box, this is a game about lighting candles... in fact that's all you do. You wander around a generic desert map and light 1000 candles. At least people assume there's 1000 of them... the game is so boring and shallow I don't think anyone bothered going that far. I sure didn't. I have less pleasant things to do, like reviewing bad games. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

Cehennem yerine aslında marsa gittiğiniz ve burada ne hikmetse mum yakıp "kaç kadeh kırıldı sarhoş gönlümde" adlı parçayı dinlerken , garson bana bi 35 lik diye seslendiğiniz fakat garsonun gelmediği , sizin de sinirlenip garsonu aradığınız bir yürüme similasyonu.
I am Japanese and am writing this review using a translation app. This game used to be an ordeal—like a grueling task—where you had to light 1,000 candles. Now, however, it has been reduced to just 11 candles, so it isn't even a challenge anymore. I feel the previous version had more substance as a game. I don't understand why the developer changed it to 11; I would like them to revert to the old version.
____________________________________________ (English): You can adjust a lot of things in the game under graphics, but if you set it to epic I would advise against it as it uses an awful lot of power and electricity which is unnecessary for the game. You start in the hell and you have to go to every candle and I also managed to jump from the abyss and then you're still alive but you can still see the things on the screen but in a noisy image. The game is controlled with the keyboard and mouse. There's a gamepad too but I couldn't find a button to light the candle. For me the 1.5 hours of playing this game were so unnecessary, I don't know how many candles I lit but I think I gave up at the end. There won't be a gameplay video, the game would be boring.

SPOILER. (I don't think that stopped you). The ending is just a black screen and some music
Beautiful but short atmospheric adventure. I don't know how anyone could play this for it's short runtime, see the sights it has to offer, and leave a negative review. Those people are better off eating toothpaste and zerking off to hardcore zorn.
I'm giving it a thumbs up, while it could be just a bit longer(just a bit), it's pretty relaxing and simple. And sometimes, simple is good. Love the way it looks. Hopefully we get more from the developer. Cheers. https://youtu.be/DAiD30zb1F8?si=r3-CtqDeh1TrRrYt
