About
Liege of the Labyrinth is a turn-based roguelike RPG. You are The Guardian, tasked with the destruction of the realm called The Labyrinth by the Gods. Although you are unable to directly intervene, with each run you will start with a randomly generated party.
Your Liber Labyrinthus will collect the knowledge of the friends and foes you've come across in each attempt. Your wits and ability to adapt to the unknown will be your most important tools.
A LABYRINTH TO EXPLORE
The Labyrinth is filled with treasures, monsters, and even a few friendly faces. Smart resource management is the key to surviving and conquering The Labyrinth. You can fight or avoid monsters, do you risk the death or injury of a party member for the experience and loot that victory will provide? When meeting with other explorers of this realm, will you trade peacefully with them or take what you want by force or trickery? One thing is certain: the longer you spend on a floor, the risk of more dangerous adversaries grows stronger.
Your only respite will be the mysterious tavern that appears between floors to give you a place to rest, learn new spells, buy items, and recruit new members.
DEADLY COMBAT
Will you be able to make it though all 20 levels and kill the Liege?
Turn-Based: Each turn every character gets Action Points to move, attack, use spells, and special abilties.
Resource Management: Hit Points and Willpower will be drained by the rigors of combat and you'll need to balance your offensive with more cautious tatics.
Deadly Monsters: Enemies will show you no mercy on the battlefield.
Lasting Consequences: When a character is reduced to 0 Hit Points they will probably die, but sometimes will survive while gaining an injury that permanently reduces their effectiveness.

[edit] I'm gonna go on and give this a thumbs up, but read the below - it's a very hesitant thumbs up. Add to the list of bugs: super difficult to select friendly characters for healing. You gotta kajigger the screen to get it to select the character and not the empty space on the other side of the character. ok listen. I WANT to give this a thumbs up - I really do. The idea is great, going from one room to another in a dungeon is unique and having roaming baddies is super red-box D&D and I dig it greatly. The combat could use some polish (may I suggest fade_in_out for your tweens?) but it's also fun. The problem is that it's pretty buggy, and doesn't give a lot of choices at the start. Closing the game locks up the client. Gotta hard-kill it. When you start a game, you are handed six characters at random - fighter, cleric, thief, wizard, and then two additionals at random. You get zero say in what spells are chosen for your wizard(s). If anything, at least letting us pick six out of, say, twelve randomized duders would be much better. There's an awful lot of baddies that are immune to ice and poison at the first level, and the game insists on giving me ice and poison abilities. wtf. So this is a thumbs down that makes me very sad, but I'm not gonna refund it. I want to cheer this dev on, and the game itself (except the lock-on-exit) functions pretty well, and this is totally my kind of game.
This is a fun game to play; I enjoy the challenge of surviving each labyrinth level. The enemies move often and don't just stand there letting you hit them and having an inventory limit keeps me engaged in deciding what is most important to hold onto. Yes, there are some bugs in v1.0, but I have not had anything happen that made the game unplayable. I recommend giving this game a try!
