I'd recommend this game, it's a nice action roguelike game with a nice replayability value through the possibilty of different builds. Your goal is to climb the Great Tree to do so you'll fight enemies through different areas and maps and fight your way against bosses. You have access to numerous upgrades, items and combining various elements to help you through it and advance to the next level of an area. You'll encounter NPCs that will help you and tell you a bit more on the lore. You can also tailor your playstyle with the purchase of upgrades and such. There is a tutorial at the beginning to teach you the ropes of the game. The controls feels nice and works well with the fast paced combat like the dash for example, the music is also solid not annoying when you need to focus and the bosses can prove to be a challenge. Regarding the visuals, the artstyle is really pleasant, and even with there is a multitude of enemies on the screen, the information needed stays clear. Sometimes enemies are relunctant to come fight you other than that it's a solid game. And It's free. Overall so far it is a good game, have fun playing it.

I like the idea and the art, but for me the game was unplayable. I would get stuck in chat windows, and the tutorial broke and I couldn't move on ( i couldn't do the charge shift attack). also the attacking is locked to movement and this makes it seem very clunky. I hope this game the best it could be really good with some more bug testing.
If you like Roguelikes like Hades, you'd enjoy this. A couple of patches can get it working well cause I did encounter a couple a couple of bugs (in fact I only stopped playing because of one). I didn't quite understand what are the things you select before you start the "Dungeon Run" but its fun. Managed to fight (and not always defeat) a couple of bosses which from my experience in 1 hour of play were all different so that nice. Also I have no idea how you can get back with your gems, I wanted to buy some permanent buffs but when I died I always lost everthing (not sure if intentional but usually you get to keep a small percentage if you don't make it till the end)
"Leyline Knights" is a mediocre 3D rendered 2D top down brawler with the "roguelike" moniker, which basically means the developer didn't know how to/was too lazy to come up with any real story/progression/level design, and instead decided that endless, samey, repetitive procgen algorithms are exactly the same thing as content. They are not. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this didn't understand that. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
This game is ok, there are a lot of issues and bugs, but the game is still fairly new, and its free so tts not too surprising to me. Just some thoughts - The battle system, its fun to dash around to dodge things, and use magic as my main attack. Its a little hard to get used to the aim, and sometimes the shift attack doesn't work. I think there was another attack using the F key, but that didn't work either. The changing of the hot keys in the settings didn't work either, and that was something that made it a little hard to get used to when battling. sometimes the E key doesn't work when trying to interact with the NPCs. That's pretty much it though, I like the art, the concept, and the story is pretty interesting too!
Like Hades but worse in every way.
Tutorial is broken. Says to press Y to do a spin attack, nothing happens, can't progress.
honestly it doesn't look like a finish product, early access at most 5.8/10
