Difficult, but satisfying. Great in small doses
Lexica is one of the hardest word games I've ever played. Since there are no prompts or clues, the words could be anything as you try to unscramble the letters. The hard pack, which I'm currently halfway through, is no joke. I often play with a dictionary open, to check if my letter combinations form real words or not. Granted, I'm not a native English speaker, but I think some of the puzzle words are very obscure. Overall, it's a challenging game and very satisfying when you complete a puzzle. I recommend Lexica in small doses to avoid frustration - some puzzles are real brain-burners.

If you enjoy word games, this is a great one. Medium and difficult levels have some words you haven't heard of before, like chemistry vocabulary. However, still totally doable if you are a word nerd. You can get enough of the rest of the puzzle to take a guess on a word (or look it up). Learning opportunity! My wife and I enjoyed doing all the puzzles. DEFINITELY start with the easy levels though to build up your skills before tackling the more difficult levels. There is certainly NO guessing - you figure out the horizontal and vertical combinations that will work. Start with the less common letters and work from there.
If you can find another word game like this, get that one. Lexica is a minimal viable product in terms of features and presentation, and I couldn't tell you if some of these words are esoteric, non-standard spellings, or just plain fake, but I do know they fall outside of my lexicon. Nevertheless, I [i[haven't found this type of puzzle elsewhere, and good gracious, is it wonderful. Despite my complaints, I'm madly in love. Lexica is one of the best word games I've ever played.
STORY
There is no story, background, or setup to the game.
GAMEPLAY
The goal of the game is to spell words by sliding letters from the sides of the board to spell words. There is only one solution for the entire board. There are three tiers of difficulty to master. Each tier has 8 packs. Each pack has 12 boards to beat. There are a total of 288 boards to beat. The game is opened in a mini window and is never presented in full screen.
PLAYTIME
The game is very complex. There are times where you may have to get a reference to beat a board or even multiple. Play time for this game is ~5-9 hours to complete all puzzles and get all achievements. (Even if you used a guide to do the boards you will still have ~5 hours to get all the boards done. The 9 hours is generous if you do not use a guide and are not familiar with these kinds of games.)
COMPLAINTS
The developer has left the game in a state where if you play all maps but want to play again at any time, you have to manually delete your local save and also turn off Steam Cloud sync.
REPLAYABILITY
The game doesn’t have any replayability since the puzzles do not change.
RECOMMENDATION
The complexity and quality of life changes needed is enough to NOT recommend this game until it is addressed.
Loved every minute. Wish there was another one!
If you like word puzzles and Sudoku, this is a great combination of both games.
It's ok if you like word puzzles. Definitely get it on sale though.
Wonderfully satisfying brain-teaser. If you prefer word puzzles to Sudoku, or you like Boggle. you will probably like this. Challenge yourself and let your brain go into that dimension where only letters exist.
