“Troll” is such a strong word for this 2D platformer with nearly 240 uniquely inventive levels. Don’t let screaming YouTubers convince you that this game is unfair. It’s fair. Sure, there are buzzsaws but they’re NICE buzzsaws. You will curse the guy who made Level Devil (Me😈) then ask for more.

“In a world full of game-mills, this game feels extremely genuine. It’s purely here for you to have fun. It’s genuinely well-made, and feels handcrafted. You’re experiencing something someone has made, not something a company has reskinned. I’ve never written a review before, but this game deserves one. Absolutely recommend” - Dgrub

exactly what it looks like, just a simple platformer that trolls you in every way imaginable. It's fine and entertaining enough.

Don't let the simple graphics fool you—this game is incredibly addictive. It trolls you in the funniest ways, but every death teaches you something. A short but memorable experience that I would happily play again.
Level Devil is a perfect example of a developer trolling its player base in the best (and sometimes worst) possible way. At first glance, it's an indie platformer with simple visuals reminiscent of old Atari-era games. However, don't let the graphics fool you; this is a modern and challenging game. Instead of relying on pixel-perfect platforming, the developer fills every level with hidden traps, fake-outs, and countless ways to catch you off guard. Just when you think you've figured out the correct path, the game pulls the rug out from under you, all for the sake of watching you fail. At the moment, the game consists of three parts (more will be added after several years), each introducing new mechanics and creative ways to troll the player. What I really appreciate is how the difficulty progresses. The game doesn't just keep adding cheap surprises; it gradually evolves into a more and more challenging platformer while still retaining its signature sense of unpredictability. My biggest complaint is the constant crashing. Sometimes the game would crash while launching, and rarely even in the middle of a run. More often than not, it would crash within the first ten seconds, and I couldn't find any reliable fix for this issue. My only "solution" was to keep reopening it until it eventually worked. After roughly ten failed launches in a row (I never counted exactly, but it certainly felt like that many, sometimes even more), the next attempt would usually run perfectly. Oddly enough, the further I progressed in the game, the more frequent the "first 10 seconds" crashes became. Jokes aside, the number of crashes every time I launched the game became so many that I thought I would never finish this game at all. All in all, Level Devil is a clever and entertaining platformer that keeps you guessing about what else the developer has in store for us. 7/10
