Lenin Simulator

It's ♥♥♥♥ ------------------------------------------ UPDATE: The developer is very aggressive. Most of the positive reviews are people he knows I would strongly recommend giving this game the swerve. There's just too much shady stuff surrounding this title. I should add this here: The tags are misleading, this should be marked as interactive Fiction. The gameplay is shallow. The writing is mediocre. The artwork is good. You've boiled down a paradox grand strategy game to the annoying events system and released it as a game. The only leg this thing has to stand on is it's setting. It's like you took a look at what Kremlingames were doing and said to yourself I could do a minimalist version of that. I gather it's let than €10 and I shouldn't be expecting the world here. But for what it is.. a small fairly interactive choose your own adventure.. it's ♥♥♥♥... dude. It looks like ostalgie or crisis in the kremlin but has none of the charm or features of either of them. And they're cheaper than this experience. If this is your very first project. Commendable. Your art is fantastic.

I thought I uncovered a gem in a coal mine, fantastic, a game like I wanted. The issue is that, this is not a game. The developer took some art and music from the Soviet Union, music that you can't pause nor skip nor anything, and essentially you click play, and time goes, and once in a while (think, idle simulator) you are asked a question, and maybe you can select from 2 or 3 options, and your choice has no consequence, until the game ends, and then 10/15 minutes later the game ends. And essentially you're supposed to spend 2 hours going over the same questions 20 times so that you can pick all the different answers and get the different outcomes. The pros are that it looks appealing. The cons are that it is not a game, it sacrifices writing (the only thing it has) for silliness and hinders the subject matter, it is NOT COMPLETED, the developer was talking about adding 20 different tabs and interactive elements, then it might be a game, but if that's the case, why was it released like this? Why not call this a demo. And lastly, the only thing it has, 2/3 slides in the end that are interesting to look at. The issue with these slides is that they are NOT COMPLETED. I managed to have every politician killed, and then Lenin died, and in the conclusion it just said "a collective committee ruled after Lenin", and what happened to WW2? What is the world like in the 21st century? Who knows. In short, you will pay $10 to listen to a random assortment of Soviet military hymns, and wait until the game asks you "shall we put down the rebellion" to which you can pick "OMG!!!1! NO WAY" or "Sure..." AND THEN! And this is the ONLY Gameplay element in this "Game", it launches TETRIS. wtf. Except, it's Tetris sped up, with very random pieces coming in. And you have 5-10 seconds to clear out a level. If you don't, it speeds up to make you lose instantly. THIS, is the only means in which you can alter the course of the "story". Did you manage to clear out a level in 5 seconds? Your choice of "OMG!!!1! NO WAY" will be applied. Did you take 7 seconds and lose? The game will ignore your choice. If you made this a free Demo, made to look interesting for what you were working on, it would be bare bones bs but at least you wouldn't be tricking people and taking their money. You should feel some semblance of shame man, I could have used that money for anything other than a 10 minute soviet song playlist, something that I can find easily on YouTube. In short, this is the most expensive music 'CD' you will ever pay for. And you can't even change tracks. But at least while listening you can play a broken version of Tetris for 5 seconds.

There's very few mechanics in the game that actually seem to matter, it's mostly a choose your own adventure game, but with Lenin as the main character. Not too bad, but not worth the 7,4€

Fun simulator of a time period i didn't know about. looks good

This game is one of the best ways to get a introduction in learning about the early soviet union. Honestly aside from one or two blips on accuracy which are not really that big of a deal (needs Lenin's actual policy on the church for the church event) it's a solid educational tool for those dipping their toes into soviet history. What's also great is the art style AHHHHHH! it's so pretty! in a simplistic way. it's a wonderful gem of a political sim which you can fit into a lunch time when bored. Well worth the price. The Dev also seems like a super nice dude too which always helps (he gave me a beta copy for free but i plan to buy this game for friends outta my own pocket it's that good)

Lenin Simulator: BETA / EARLY ACCESS REVIEW (Note: I received a free copy from the developer but my opinions are my own) Lenin simulator is great. You lead the Soviet Union from 1920 to 1923, and have to deal with those problems. Graphics: 5/10, pretty basic Gameplay: 7.5/10, gets repetitive but is fun to choose the options Story: 8/10, very good and historical Overall: 7. I would recommend this for sure.

The writing of the game is full of charm and personality that is typically not present in similar games, working out how your decisions and stats result in the various branching endings is engaging and entertaining. Its a fun little game that is entirely worth the time and money. There are also some interesting details about that era of soviet factionalism present that you may learn from if you aren't knowledgeable on the topic. Buy and play rit now~!!

A poorly done game with annoying minigames (it is just Tetris on speed), and your stats do not matter; you would be better off playing something from Kremlingames or just pocketing your $5, as the game is not enjoyable. With that said, I do recommend keeping watch on this game as it has a LOT of potential, and the foundations for a good and enjoyable game are all there; they just need to be fixed and expanded upon in future updates.

Accurate (as far as I can tell without googling), occasionally silly without drawing away from the game's core, short but not so short that it feels rushed and a fair amount of replayability. My only real complaint is that i hate the minigame, but I wouldn't say that it's bad, I think I'm just bad at tetris. 6.5/10
