About

Find out what being a Knight in medieval times was truly about in Legends of the Round Table.
Lead the Knights of the Round Table through King Arthur's legend in an authentically medieval RPG, brimming with honor, magic and romance! Embark on adventures adapted from real medieval stories, accompanied by beautiful art meticulously hand-drawn using genuine Illuminated Manuscript techniques, and a musical score adapted from actual 13th-century compositions and poetry played on real, period-accurate instruments.

The game's visuals are inspired by XIIIth century illuminated manuscripts and the environments have been hand-drawn by medieval specialists following authentic medieval painting techniques, remaining true to the tools, dyes and colors that were available in that period.

In each adventure, you'll find intrigue, mystery, love and conflict. Every decision you take, like granting mercy to a defeated opponent, condemning a criminal to death or even indulging in romance will affect your honor as well as the future of your realm.

Mounted lance charges, squires to swap weapons and take prisoners for ransoms, honorable duels and deadly encounters are all pillars of our strategic, turn-based combat system. Every fight matters and losses are permanent.

The game's music is played on medieval instruments: lutes, harps, viols and more. Each adventure is embellished by beautiful songs performed by renowned singer Anne Azéma of the Boston Camerata.

Manage the Arthurian Knights including Sir Lancelot, Sir Gawain, Sir Percival and more than a dozen others! Choose those deserving of a seat at the Round Table, assign the most fitting Knights for each quest, oversee their occupations and witness their individual journeys of development, aging, conflicts and ultimately, their death.
Every Knight is unique with a vast array of evolving traits that influence how they handle challenges. They each have their own desires, strengths, weaknesses and social preferences. Not every Knight gets along with others and the cohesion of a party plays a crucial role in their success.

The card system makes you the artisan of your own destiny. Should you use the Grail card to cast a powerful spell and turn the tides now, or save it for a more opportune moment?

This is such a creative and beautiful game.
Truly wonderous visuals with a strong but not too varied Combat system. Fun characters, with devs that show obvious care for making this game proper. Buy it.
Very unique and strange game inspired more obviously by Arthurian legends and less obviously by the Pendragon tabletop game. Manage the Knights of the Round Table as King Arthur year by year. Every year some of your knights participate in a major adventure, which plays out like an adventure game with combat. The rest of your knights perform minor tasks, with one being selected for a text-based minor adventure. Sometimes you have army vs army field battles which are influenced by the glory you amass from adventuring. Pay attention to the in game video tutorials because the interface is practically out of the 90s. Only downside is everything is voiced (and occasionally sung) by the narrator, and well, ymmv on her. Overall thumbs up, the devs put a lot of love into this and I hope this is a success for them.
Oh my what an incredible game! The storytelling, the artwork, the music, it's an all around work of art. It reminds me of a spiritual relative to Pentiment. Clearly a labor of love.
This is a lovely game and I would recommend it to anyone fond of Arthurian lore and literature, and I think that many strategy RPG fans in general will find a lot to like here. The care that has gone into producing Legends of the Round Table is everywhere as you play - the art based directly on the style of illuminated manuscripts of the medieval period, the stories drawn from all manner of Arthurian texts (not just Malory's Morte D'Arthur), the period-style music and the style of songs and singing in different cutscenes. There are three different difficulty settings and i imagine that those who wish mostly to experience the artistry and the tales themselves will find a lot of enjoyment playing the easiest of the three. For myself, I chose Champion - the hardest - and i will tell you that it's difficult. If you enjoy a good strategic challenge you'll like this, as you need to be careful in how to you set your knights' positions. Usually, if an enemy or one of your units is successfully attacked they will become destabilized. This renders them less effective in attack and easier to hit. All of which is important because when performing attack, defense and other checks in combat you select from a group of five active cards with different values across four virtue types. If you have only lower value cards but your opponent is destabilized you can often use these lower cards and still score hits. sometimes, you may need to intentionally use a card that is poor, even if you are going to fail your attack check, because when you use a card a new one from your deck takes its place. Using lower value ones when there is less of a consequence for doing so can help you get higher level replacements from your deck that could mean the difference between successfully defending and getting hit hard. When and how you use your cards and how you manage your actions (you get 3 per turn) is critical in successfully winning fights. But fighting isn't all there is - the general structure of the game is that each year (beginning in 515 A.D. after the earlier tutorial sections) you, as Arthur, get to select one adventure for four knights of your choosing to embark upon. Each adventure is drawn from one or more literary source, with some adaptations and merged stories as well as fully faithful ones. These adventures have different traits recommended for the knights who will be undertaking them. In addition to choosing an adventure, you also get to assign tasks to the other knights, each of which confers different bonuses. You can also recruit new knights, ask Merlin to send you back in time to replay a given year of the game, and have solo quests for one of the knights not going on the adventure. Once these are all assigned, that year's adventure begins. The quests I've played so far typically require exploring, talking to individuals, collecting items necessary for certain characters or quest requirements, fighting various enemies and hopefully resolving the story satisfactorily. You will be given decisions about whom to trust and whom to kill or spare. Most of the quest items are fairly simple - in one, I needed to prepare a meal that would appeal to an individual I was trying to lure out so i had to find the ingredients for a savory pastry. Likewise, adventures are not typically populated with dozens of NPCs. Rather, each adventure is a sort of vignette - a short story in game form but with combat and decisions to make. When you complete quests your knights gain vocation points that help them to advance in level, as well as the possibility of opulence points, which are obtained when granting mercy to a defeated enemy knight. the more opulence points a knight has, the more money is at your disposal on adventures that knight participates in. Unlike a lot of RPGs there are no healing potions or items to clear status effects. You fight and potentially accumulate wounds, fatigue and cowardice points, some of which persist from battle to battle. The gameplay is fairly complicated from a UI and stats perspective, and it takes a while to get used to all of the different rules and mechanics. I was more or less comfortable after about 4-5 hours of play. The devs have essentially created a new RPG system (it does not use D20) of their own for the game and as such it takes a bit to get the hang of it, but fortunately the two earliest sections of the game are filled with tutorial guidance and there is a game manual easily accessible at any time within the game. If that sounds like a lot, it is, but it's well worth it for the music, the art and the sense of living out these stories. The devs have truly crafted something unique and special with this game and I really hope it does well because the work they've done deserves it.
Tactics gameplay and card meta is pretty good, The telling of the Arthurian Fables is Very good if you're into it. It is the later version of the fables written by the French sadly (Superfrenchman Lancelot etc...). They did a good job all the same.
Jeu très original, avec une super DA (dessins, Voix, Chant, Musique). Mélange de conte et un peu de stratégie. Je recommande chaudement.
I love this game. I wish my life felt like this. It just feels good to play. The art style is fantastic and the large battles are a very enjoyable change of pace from the quests. [strike]Only negative is that there is a lot of horse riding...[/strike] There is a lot of horseback riding. I wasn't sure that's a negative. The art makes the riding bearable. Highly recommend.
