The planet of Aethereus is an ancient and mysterious world filled with majestic forests, misty swamps, deep caves and ancient ruins. Devastated by three large astronomical events, the Three Great Skyfalls, it is a world just coming out of chaos and ruin.

Tags: 3PHS - Third Person Hack & Slash Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Small instance based questing. Arena fighting. Game crashes. Engine dated. Combat clunky. Ranged weapons overpowered. Bad skills. Legend of Aetherus has you pick between inventors and warmongers. I picked inventory and it was lousy. All their skills are to make landmines, and tripbombs and the implementation of it relies on spammed components that are hard to keep track of. I just ignored this whole section of the game as a result. You start off in a small town. There is the one quest giver. Then the docks guy who spawns an instance for you to do the quests from the questgiver. Other than that you have a small tavern room with a chest in it for the player and a blacksmith, which sells stuff for gold or allows you to craft. All of the loot in this game is crafting components. You would have to stockpile indecent amounts of well over 100+ types of components before making anything worthwhile. Every successful item you can gamble away the result for a 10% increase. Meaning that for the max level 5 item. You would burn through massive quantities of crafted items. Becomes easier to just buy equipment outright from the blacksmith. I had a really hard time early on. The animations are really stiff. The combat is kinetic but hard to handle. Block windows are tiny. Camera swirve needed to handle the attack arcs efficiently is a bit much. I ended up opting for making myself a saber as I found the arc of the blade helped sidestep foes while attacking and still catching them in the weapon's arc. Through overcoming the initial learning curve and making my own first weapon I might have overleveled or I just got used to the clunky animations but the game became a breeze. Very easy to game the A.I. by staying diagonal to enemies, rotating around them and taking potshots after they fail their attack animation. Not the most terrible little game of combat but not exactly well implemented either. All of the combat commnetary is irrelevant though as I got a rifle from the store. Due to the nature of the animations, and without the restriction of weapon range or having to handle my own weapon arc. I could just sort of akwardly dance around walking backwards, while aiming and taking bosses down without taking a single hit. By that point I had completed three quests and they were all very samey. Get dropped in instance, follow path, reach village, kill boss, get key, open door, leave. I cannot emphazize enough how useless the skills are. The UI is clunky and does not allow to have one central place to see all your skills and equippables and figuring out how much of each component and of what color they are is just really too much to cope with. I also had done up to five waves in the arena. The arena is the only other interactive piece of NPC that I found in the town. He is an alien that looks like E.T. wears a christmas hat and sends you in a gladiator pit. You fight wave after wave of a selection of monsters, presumably from the campaign mode. You can cash out when you feel you are tapped out otherwise you lose your earnings. All of the foes in the arena wear christmas hats as well, and drop christmas present boxes which took away from the immersion and was really odd. By that point I had suffered my first engine freeze. I was booted back to desktop and decided to stop playing. Conclusion: This might had been a good idea, a large RPG that runs natively on linux. The game looks like it might have had potential with a ton more content, reworked skills, a plot thats worth following and combat that isnt broken, but that attention was never paid to the game and as such it just feels like a very clunky abandonned MMO. Not a good experience. Removing local content permanently and hiding from library for declutter.

Also im guten Mittelfeld angesiedelt. Bisher also ein guter Wert...
Not the worst i played but not the best. If you find it anywhere free ok otherwise nope
Want to enter a world void of life? Its you against a world of monsters. Fight with the bugs and the AI as much as you do with those monsters? Who are you kidding no one wants that. Don't buy this. It showed promise a long time ago but was abandoned.
I know this game has a few bugs and I don't know if it is finished (I believe it is), but one thing I know is that it is fun to play! I had a few crashes in the early missions but since then it seems to be running ok. (I'm about nine missions in so far and I'm playing on the MAC.) I really enjoy the exploring and the hunting of the different monsters, the ambiance is immersive and I don't mind doing the missions 3 - 4 times to improve my character (currently at level 14). I have crafted a few items (armor, sword and crossbow) and there are a lot of options for crafting them. I know there seems to be a lot of angry people but for I am enjoying playing this game and I am recommending it specially if you have a chance to buy it on sale!
Nope!
