[b]legendary slide 2[/b] is a mahjong-based sliding game from 2017. gotta move individual pieces around until they can meet, match and disappear. it's just like [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/dohi64/recommended/1070250/]notes[/url] or [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/dohi64/recommended/1501090]yin yang[/url] on steam but there are probably other examples that escape me at the moment. and it's obviously a carbon copy of [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/dohi64/recommended/2541070]legendary slide[/url] but [b]there's undo now[/b], so my review is largely the same but it's a recommendation now. (clicking the 'extra content' button to access more levels used to crash the game, an absolute joke for a 6-year-old product dumped on steam as-is, but it got fixed.)
[b]102 levels[/b] unlocked one by one, divided into numerous packs within numerous packs (extra levels are all available once the main ones are all finished). optional animated [b]tutorials[/b] teach the rules over and over, as the same one plays before every single level. there are [b]various mechanics[/b], never explained, leaves something to find out for yourself. ice tiles are static, sand disappears if conditions are met, locks need keys, there are portals, arrow tiles, glass that breaks after sliding over it once, conveyor belts, etc.
controls are mouse-based, work as they should, esc brings up the pause menu, no other hotkeys. [b]no timer but there's a soft move limit now[/b]. in the first game the number of matches determined score and the [b]3-star rating[/b], now it's more straightforward. there's a move counter on top, showing requirements for each star, but [b]you can go over and finish with zero stars[/b], the next level will still unlock. [b]difficulty is uneven[/b] but most levels are nice and compact, 20-30 moves tops, many less, a few in the 40s. levels 62 and 83 are outliers with around 90, a bit much.
there's a counter for remaining tiles and a toggle to show movable ones. [b]what's missing are next level and retry buttons[/b] on the level complete screen, continue just drops you back at level select where there aren't level previews or numbers, so that isn't done well either. and [b]still no reset button[/b], have to bring up the menu and do it there, then wait a bit until things slowly reset.
since it's the [b]platinum edition[/b], not only does it come with more levels (only 84 in the butchered version on big fish), but [b]video solutions are available for every stage[/b]. instead of relatively big video files, they're done in a more economic way now, so the game doesn't weigh 1 gb anymore. there's a seek bar and pause button, good stuff. another difference is videos aren't all unlocked from the start (it was weird anyway), you can only look up the current level's solution.
it [b]looks exactly like the developer's other mahjong titles[/b], same menus, ui, tiles, everything. possibly the same audio as well. customization options are pretty good though, backgrounds, tilesets, tile shapes and colors. no need for a dedicated ui button for it though, level reset should've been there and cosmetics only from the pause menu. separate volume sliders, game cursor and windowed mode make up the settings, available anytime, plus there are player profiles.
it's a fine little game despite all the recycled assets (just look at [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/701290/]legendary mahjong[/url], which also has slide levels that may or may not differ from the ones here, lots more content for about the same price), and [b]with undo in place, it's easily recommendable for sliding and matching fans[/b].
