If I could ERP then it's a great game, it turns out that it is indeed possible to ERP so I'm going to give the game a 5 star review on Yelp. UwU
Honestly. Pretty cool. Still has ways to go, but I can see myself enjoying it once it gets more of a population.
I wanted to see what this game was like and I figured I support the developers. The game is broken. I am having trouble clicking buttons in my menu with my fingers. I can't go to any worlds. Clicking 'join' on a world does nothing! Developers please fix your bugs and this will be use able vr game! I really think the developers abandoned this project as their last update to this game was in early 2021. It really makes me question why they are they charging money for a game that isn't even playable! Tested in both vr and desktop.

A social mmo with VR support that currently has most of the features of VRChat. Most of it's standout features are promises on a trello, but that doesn't make it a bad game. It's two primary developers work night and day on the game, and are incredibly responsive to questions, suggestions, and discussion on the Lavender discord server. I made a joke about physical body like Boneworks and June had it in the game after a month. I made a joke about dynamic bones, and June had spring bones that were functionally the same by the next morning. If you want something fixed, or want to see something in Lavender, go to the discord. I don't often like waiting for games to 'get good', but I've enjoyed my time in the Lavender discord with the friendly community and friendly developers. Even though I'm not a patreon, they've never made me feel unwelcome. Game as of Christmas of 2019 is unpolished, but extremely optimized. If you like sitting around pretty rooms with a mirror and talking to chill dudes, Lavender's got your back. Lua support and friends list stuff is meant to be put in soon, which should open up the possibilities for interesting maps. Uploading my VRChat models was painless and easy. Voice quality is superb. Servers can hold over a hundred players on a good server box, and unlike High Fidelity I could hear and see people. Running around massive unity maps with tons of people is great, but the player base tends to not get together unless someone holds an event.
Update 2023: No idea if this project goes anywhere at this point but a complete rewrite in Unreal Engine 5 is in the works, as it is right now do not buy it. Is Lavender recommendable right now ? If you love testing and be the first man on the Moon yes. Many cool ideas, very cool and chill devs that actually respond to you. If stuff works, its fast as hell. But for real though, if you just want to game don't get Lavender yet, for normal people its not a product to use yet and btw this is what earlie access is for.
Boy do I enjoy having actual fps in my vr games. Lavender is the perfect example of having a social game with lots of people in a single instance, still running at maxed out fps. While game modes are still being worked on, the ground works for the Lavender seems to be there and quickly building in the couple of days I've been popping in. The new UI is far superior to the previous one which is great. Game is early access of course so don't expect it all to be there, but if you enjoy chilling with people and not running at tiny fps, then I'd deffo say give it a go.
Every time i booted this game up overtime, it's lost another feature that is crucial to a walking simulator, this is not a walking simulator btw.
Main dev needs to get a manager that can help him guide this project. It's stuck in development hell just because the main dev can't decide what to do with his game.
I want to preface this review with a warning. Do not play this game right now if you are expecting perfect gameplay or VRChat 2.0. The game is in early access, but the devs are constantly updating the game. So give it time. Lavender is a game that I have only had a small peek into, but can already tell that I enjoy it a lot. The player-base is small, as it is starting out, but I see it getting larger very soon. There are a few features that let me know this. -Full player-body interaction. You see a prop over there? You have full-body? Go kick it. Watch it move from your foot instead of just phasing through. -The way that servers are handled is also quite nice. Instead of making instances of a world, you just make a server that goes to the server list. So much nicer and easier to find your friends as well. -Scripting built into the game itself. Need I say more? Overall, it is an early access game, but in the original sense. This is a game that is actively being worked on by the small team it has. At the moment of writing this review, I believe there is another build being published within the day. Edit: Lavender never gained traction or popularity like it claimed it would, never updated and just abandoned the few people who purchased it wondering why they wasted their money.
