Explore caves and find mysterious cube and contraptions left by other civilization. Walking sim with a bit of puzzles and some spookiness.
If Lovecraft and MYST had a baby - this would be it.
Очень красиво.
Lapso: NIMBO is a fairly basic Unity asset flipped first person adventure, walking sim one of many hundreds, if not thousands of these glutting Steam. The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store assets, arranged them haphazardly in a first person adventure game template, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers. Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. Most of the assets here are from various Unity packs like the NatureManufacture pack, but the developers here don't want you to know that. It's not hard to write a credits page, but instead, this two-man team, that claims to be "indie", are taking the assets of others and putting their own name on them. They're also not "indie" because before they abandoned this demo, they went looking for a publisher. Not quite sure if I'm boiling the ocean on this one, but if you're working with a publisher, then your'e not indie. Steam Direct is right there, it costs $100. You enter business arrangements with other companies, share profits and funding, then you ain't indie. Just amateurs, and that's evident as we get into the technical defects of this train wreck. But ultimately this isn't a game, it's just a tech demo, the actual game this was supposed to advertise is, for all intents and purposes, completely abandoned. The last official word from the non-indie amateur asset flippers pushing this is that they needed a publisher... of course no publisher with even an ounce of ethics would go close to asset flippers and plagiarists. The legal risks are too great. Lapso: NIMBO is not strictly a game. It's an advertisement/demo for an abandoned game called "Lapso". It's a common mistake when unfamiliar with Steam to launch demos/advertisements as full games on Steam instead of tagging them correctly as demos. Here's the instructions for putting a demo up on Steam, to demonstrate that there is a correct process for this, which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. As mentioned, Limbo is abandoned. The "developers" behind this asset flip insist they are just waiting for more money (seriously, you can't make this stuff up). I guess they need more money so they can buy some more assets off the Unity Asset Store? It's hard to put your name on other people's assets before you download them, after all. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. Arrogantly, the developers demand you should find a way to plug headphones into your gaming PC to experience the craptastic audio they shovelled into this terrible game. I run a 9.2 surround sound system for my gaming rig, I'm not interested in downgrading just because the developers demand I experience the game in a compromised manner. Developers must never dictate to gamers how a game should be consumed, it's their JOB to ensure a game is experienced well on any gaming rig. Failure to do this is a failure on their part, and not the gamers. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 13 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. They're giving this advertisement away for free, and even then people didn't want it. No wonder no publisher wants to touch this... gamers can spot asset flips from a mile away. This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name.
I love Light friend!
Bir ışık parıltısı Kali Müller'i yakaladığında, efsanelerin doğru olup olmadığını öğrenmek için Rockrose'un derinliklerine doğru ilerlemekten başka seçeneği kalmayacaktır. Grafikler harika.
This is yet another Walking Sim with puzzles. It's a prologue which came out in July of 2020, was made by just two indie devs, and financing for the full game was a problem. The devs tried to get a deal with a few studios, but had no luck. At this point, November of 2024, it's been 4.5 years so I'd say the full game will probably never see the light of day. Thus, just enjoy it for what it is... an hour or so of free entertainment. It could take you anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to totally be done with this, depending on 4 things. It depends on your pace of exploration, your puzzle-solving skills, whether or not you care about getting the achievements, and whether or not you use Hanni's helpful walkthrough & achievement guide. The achievements don't count on your Profile, there's no trading cards, and no replayability. There's the basic concept of a story, but since this is a prologue the story is just a few shallow bits and pieces. In first-person view, you go into a cave and are mysteriously sealed in it. You come across several weird-looking drawings and schematic diagrams. Put these together with the bits of story you're given, and the heavy implication here is that aliens have been visiting this area and have left some technology behind. The game is quite immersive. The graphics are absolutely stunning, and the audio is top-notch. The bobbing of the camera was minimal, so I didn't get motion sickness as I sometimes do with Walking Sims, but you might experience it if you're more sensitive than I am. The game ran as smooth as butter. I personally experienced no glitches at all.
