About

Early Access - A tribute to the old-school RPGs (Phantasie, Wizardry, Ultima, Might and Magic, Diablo), BBS MUDs (Tele-arena, MajorMUD, The PIT and Blademaster) of the 1990s and early MMORPGs (Everquest). Landonia is a hardcore old-school, open-world and non-linear single-player, turn-based RPG that includes possibilities of parties upto 16 player-characters, treasures, grinding, questing, and classic cRPG play. There are numerous factions that can be allied with or fought against, and NPCs will battle each other if the circumstances arise.
Game has a story-mode and separate arena battle-royale mode:
Upto 16 player characters that you create can be used interchangeably in either mode. Items, gold, and experience carry over from each mode.
Two modes of combat that the player can change at anytime:
(Default) Action RPG style for quicker styles of play!
Control 1 player in continuous mode, with (upto-15) party members supporting you automatically based upon your party settings.
Classic Turn-Based.
Control every player when it is their turn to move. For more tactical play!

This review is presented to you by the Claws of the Wyvern for the AWG Curator! We would be happy if you visit and follow us. You`re always welcome. Once in the 80´s there was a Time when Young Wyvern was sitting in his Cellar Room playing Games on the good old AMIGA 500. One of my favourit Genres were Roleplay Games. I remember playing Games like FAIRY TALE ADVENTURE, PHANTASIE III, LEGEND OF FAERGHAIL and so many others. In that Times Games were harder and more grindy for Leveling up, but it Always was a good Feeling when you did it. From Simple Retro Graphics to wonderfull drawn Ones like EYE OF THE BEHOLDER, for everyone were enough Games there. Most Games were expensive in that Times. But there were also PUBLIC DOMAIN Games in that Times, cheaper Games or Freeware. And here you found Little Pearls and i played many of them. Games like this. Welcome to LANDONIA! At first, this is a Game in EARLY ACCESS, what means that there is more to come. This Game is also created by one Developer, who is doing his first Game. This is no High End Game, it is a Heart Project. And i feel that, because the Developer is listening to Community Wishes and working hard on his Game, making often updates. LANDONIA is a homage, a bow to good old Roleplay Games. After the nice Intro you can create a Character and have the Choice of 6 Races and 7 Classes. From the Typical Humans, Dwarfs and Elves you can also Choose Trolls, Ogres and Imps. The Classes are classic like Warrior, Mage and 5 more. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3424392349 After you created your Hero, you enter your Hero´s Room. Here is a Chest where ALL of your Heros can take und put Things into it. A nice done Tutorial shows you alll you need to know for your upcoming Journey. After that you can go into the World of LANDONIA. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3424393241 The Graphics are wonderfull old School and that goes also for the Music. Nice Title Theme and nice Music Ingame. While you explore the World you can enter Dungeons and other Places. Gain Experience by battling Monsters. When you Encounter them, the Game goes in Turnbased but you also switch to Continous Mode. Use your Classbased Abilitys and give´em Hell. But avoid Monsters in the Beginning that are definetly to BIG for you. When you die, you return to your Hero´s Room. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3424393654 LANDONIA is a Little nice old School Game. It is what it said: A tribute to the old-school cRPG grind, BBS MUDs of the 1990s and early MMORPGs. Nothing more, Nothing less, but as said before in Early Access. Another Review said: 1)Game is broken and Buggy. I didn´t Encounter any Problems and Bugs. 2) No Tutorial That was fixed, the Game has now a Tutorial 3)Permadeath That was also fixed, you can Play without Permadeath. 4)Impossible to Play I have much fun with it and are exploring and Fighting. Gaining experience to Level up and trying other Races and Classes. Yes the Game Needs some polishement, but it is EA and fun. Well, don´t expect too much but if you give it a try you will be there like me from the Beginning and see the Game growing. Have Ideas? Just post it and you will see the Dev is listening. At this Point, thank you for the FULLSCREEN dear Dev. I got this Game for free but in the next Days i will buy 2 or 3 Copys to support him. If someone of you is really interested in trying this Game, let me know, i will gift it to you. A gib thanks to the Developer for your Invite to your World, i really enjoy this Timewarp to my Childhood. I will Play on and are excited for the Things to come. Thank you. And thank YOU dear Reader for reading.
this game has a lot of old-school RPG charm and feels like a passion project made by someone who genuinely loves classic grind-heavy cRPGs. I had fun exploring and leveling ups. The soundtrack is also surprisingly well chosen and adds a lot to the atmosphere. that said, the game definitely still needs work. I ran into a few crashes and certain mechanics can be confusing at first. But considering this is an Early Access game made by a solo developer, I can still see a lot of potential here. There’s already a decent amount of content, and the constant updates make it feel like the game is actively improving. Happy to support an indie dev building something this ambitious. Looking forward to seeing it grow! edit: I tried it again after the patch and the dev fixed all of the crashes ! :D more reason to try it out!
Game is broken and buggy. No options to resize screen. No tutorial. Screens overlap. Death is permanent. Impossible to play. Refunded.
(some spoilers) 1. Get free key 2. Try the game 3. Go basic, human warrior 4. Everybody destroys me, movement feels really bad (can't go diagonal, it really annoys me how the HUD disappears while moving then reappears), map is annoying (can't see neither myself nor interactable houses + in that human kingdom the map just doesn't work), combat is hard to understand because of range and how turns stop the game etc, having to levelup at tavern is annoying 5. Quit at lv 3, try mage 6. Blast everything, kill all human npcs for tons of exp (actually fun) 7. Get stuck on lv 8 (i think its max? otherwise I just couldnt find the place to level up more) 8. Go on power trip, go to all areas and make sure to kill everyone 9. Find hidden noble house in the area with the broken map 10. Lysander guy at the library says he'll help me if I'm worthy 11. One shot him. 12. Huge blue wyvern with red name spawns and oneshots me 13. Go for a rematch. Oneshot again, now the wyvern is spawn camping me 14. Die 100 times while dealing 1 damage with basic attack (can't even use spells because I can't target him before he kills me again) 15. Game crashes 16. See there is an update, update game 17. Restart game, my lv 8 mage is gone. 18. GG Honestly, went from hate to love. Really broken game, quests either unfinished (all those mentions about runes) or I was just too dumb to find or understand. But I didn't give up when it felt really bad and actually ended up enjoying it a good amount.
Landonia has a nice old-school RPG feeling with enjoyable combat, leveling, and character progression. The controls take a little time to get used to, but they feel better after playing for a while. Considering it was made by a solo developer, the amount of content and progression systems is pretty solid. Overall, it’s a good casual RPG to relax and spend some time with.
I'm recommending this one purely for the music. The game has serious issues, the visuals are rough and inconsistent, the fonts are hard to read, the tutorial leaves you completely lost, and it crashed on me multiple times with the same error code. It's not in a playable state right now.
I’m giving this a thumbs up, but with a massive asterisk: you need to know exactly what you're signing up for. Landonia is a diamond in the rough, an unapologetic throwback to the days of heavy grinding, party building, and zero hand-holding. If you hate rough edges, come back in a year. But if you love indie passion projects, read on. Let’s get the bad out of the way first. When you boot it up, the visuals hit you with a bit of a mixed bag, the fonts can be a pain to read, and yes—the game will probably crash on you. The onboarding is also pretty wild; the short tutorial gets you moving, but then the game basically kicks you out of the nest and says "good luck." On top of that, the controls will feel completely alien for the first half-hour. So why the recommendation? Because once the mechanics finally click and you stop fighting the menus, the actual RPG core is incredibly addictive. The progression loop is pure old-school satisfaction. Designing your party, balancing different classes/races, and seeing your squad slowly turn from weaklings into absolute powerhouses feels amazing. It’s the perfect kind of game to put on some headphones, zone out, and just grind. Speaking of audio, the soundtrack is a massive surprise—it’s atmospheric, well-chosen, and carries the vibe perfectly even when the graphics feel unpolished. For a solo developer project in Early Access, the sheer amount of content, gear, and skills already implemented is wild. The dev is constantly pumping out patches, which is the best sign you can look for in an EA title. It’s an ambitious indie RPG that deserves the support of classic cRPG fans. Don't quit early—give it some patience, embrace the jank, and you'll find a really great casual adventure here.
Fun little game, I wasn't able to play for as long since it crashed a couple times and then crashed the whole computer. But what I did get to play was fun, the tutorial was a little short, but I was able to figure out most of everything that wasn't covered. Controls are a little weird, but overall not too bad, just a bit of an adjustment period. I didn't get very far on exploration, but I did notice that the quests are a little hard to follow. Still if I wanted a little rambling and combat it is a decent game to boot up
The game is gravely in early development. Cons: Uses AI generated intro cut-scene that should not exist. Please don't. Extremely cluttered UI The dev seems to have forgotten there exists a mouse and not just a keyboard Pros: I see a vision. Somewhere. I love supporting indie development, however, this is very garrish on the eyes, and not quite ready for launch. Perhaps a kickstarter or a patreon project at best. I shall one day revisit this to see its progress.
