This basic-level course is designed to enhance laboratory scientists' ability to identify how personal protective equipment (PPE) can help reduce the risk of exposure to hazardous materials, prevent transmission of infectious agents, and demonstrate how to don and doff PPE in the correct order.

👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑

 Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
English: -------------------------------------------> LabTrainingVR: Personal Protective Equipment Edition from the Centers for Disease Control is an educational program for aspiring lab technicians. With a lot of humor, this little program guides us through everyday laboratory work. That is, we learn all about the personal protective equipment we need to work safely in the lab. It's not just about our own health, but also about not endangering the health of others. So up-to-date so good. However, the program is not limited to just reciting down regulations. We have to actively participate in a teaching test and decide at the end for the right equipment. And no, a samurai with a dinosaur hat and a carnival nose is not necessarily suitable for working in a laboratory. If we have done everything right at the end, there is a score and we are allowed to try again. The whole thing takes about an hour, if you let yourself get carried away with just fooling around. However, it flies by. Even though the program only displays Vive controllers, it can also be used with the Index controllers without any problems. Sometimes there are a few jerks and we can teleport through closed doors when we stick our heads through them, but otherwise it's a lot of fun to play around in the lab. The graphics are perfectly adequate and we even have a full body instead of just floating hands. An educational fun day in the lab! 👀Contaminated Material is only available on my curator page. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑

 Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
Just writing a review to say that this app works perfectly fine on the Oculus Quest 2 with link cable. Not sure why it's not listed as being officially supported. Also, works perfectly fine with standing room. Not sure why it says 20 ft x 20 ft is recommended, especially when only the USA uses Imperial instead of the universal metric system.
LabTrainingVR: Personal Protective Equipment Edition is a free VR educational program from the CDC. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. You have training on how to use VR, how to use PPE, and how to reduce Risk in a lab. You have to pay attention to detail and listen to feedback get through the Risk lab hall. There is a final exam that you have to get 80 percent or better to win, has feedback at end, then you can retake exam. There is some fun stuff added to this program like costumes and funny accessories to wear on your body. You have a body and you can wear clothes. Plenty to learn about. Might take you a while to get through. It does save your progress and lets you continue. CON: - Had some problem with not able to remove gloves, or accidently removing items of clothes. Try this, if you are interested in biology or medical lab work.
Bu temel düzeydeki kurs, laboratuvar bilim adamlarının kişisel koruyucu ekipmanın (KKD) tehlikeli maddelere maruz kalma riskini azaltmaya, bulaşıcı ajanların bulaşmasını önlemeye nasıl yardımcı olabileceğini belirleme ve KKD'nin doğru şekilde nasıl takılıp çıkarılacağını gösterme becerilerini geliştirmek için tasarlanmıştır. emir.
Using VR as a training tool makes a lot of sense. Problem: it's a rather niche market, and not everyone is going to want to pay thousands of dollars to buy video game equipment as a training tool, even cheaper options like the Facebook trash most(?) people have. Problem: Putting on protective equipment is not click and drag. There are actual procedures on how to put on or remove (don or doff) gloves, coats, masks, glasses... this is not something you can do by clicking a trigger and pulling a solid object into a general area on your body. Wasting some disposable gloes learning how to use them for real is cheaper than VR equipment, even if you can reuse the headsets for dozens of people. This software failed to ask the question: "Who is this for?". How many eight year old lab techs need to learn how to use safety equipment in an actual lab where they're meant to operate centrifuges and handle infectious materials? And if it's meant for adults, why are there ball gowns and viking helmets and toy dinosaurs? I applaud using VR for training purposes, but this specific kind of training cannot be done in VR. This is a legitimately weird decision for a project that didn't have any sanity checks. That being said, it wasn't the worst VR experience I've ever had, although the game chugged so hard during the "final exam" that I had to forcibly quit through my keyboard. It's also extremely minimalistic, with no menu or built-in height adjustment options, so it seems to have been made by people who've never used VR despite literally saying "Here's how you're expected to use VR here". Weird. I look forward to the Lab Training Brain Surgery Edition where they teach you how to operate in VR using pool noodles and googly eyeball glasses.
Before I played LabTrainingVR: Personal Protective Equipment Edition, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
very informative. unfortunatly once you get to the real test the gloves keep getting pulled off. (selection stays active). it's a great learning software, but the interaction is sometimes wonky (valve+knuckles)
