About
In La Salamanca, you put yourself in the shoes of a young man from Argentina, who after the mysterious disappearance of all his friends during a trip to Santiago del Estero, will have to look for them in their supposed meeting place: An old and dark apartment complex called "El Portal", a "cozy" place, which is not really what it seems...
Inspired by a local legend from Argentina, you will have to descend deeper and deeper into this place straight out of hell, running and hiding from its abominations, to finally reveal the truth of what happened with your colleagues, and what this site is truly hiding.
A psychological horror game that immerses you in a story inspired by a legend from the north of Argentina.
A thrilling atmosphere that will keep even the bravest on their toes throughout the game.
An episodic structure where each chapter and level will have different approaches in their mechanics to differentiate themselves from each other.
Multiple puzzles to sharpen your brain as you progress through the story and evade monsters.
Terrifying monsters and demons, where you must develop different tactics to deal with each of them based on their behavior and the environment around you.
We are Carpincho Studio, a bunch of young amateur devs from Argentina (Mostly from Rosario). We love games and both playing and developing them is our passion, reason why we decided, as a group, to finally make public our first ever game, "La Salamanca".

I unfortunately cannot recommend this game. La Salamanca is riddled with game breaking bugs and poorly executed mechanics which blur the lines between puzzle and mistake, ultimately throttling any meaningful progression. What started off as a promising horror experience quickly went sideways and lacked any of those impact moments where the payoff felt worth it. That's assuming you can even experience the game. I expect a few issues here and there with these kinds of indie horror originals, but there are many problems here which are beyond acceptable. Some examples include: -A key despawning before it was used for all of its intended purposes - with the solution being to "restart the chapter". This softlocked an entire section and wasted close to an hour for me. -Interactions not triggering, notably in the sewer area where I was unable to interact with the pressure gauges. If I hadn't found an online walkthrough, I would have unknowingly been hard stuck here, because it's a required interaction that bugged out. Frustratingly enough, I did everything that was shown in the video did down to the T, and still had this issue. This happened numerous times elsewhere as well, with this being the worst offender. -The game does NOT freeze time when you interact with items. Therefore you are stuck for 2-3 seconds staring at the item, which makes picking up anything mid-chase a death wish. The game also soft locked one time while picking up a note, forcing a reset. -Some notes disappeared in my inventory. I was still able to read notes from previous chapters, and none of them were ordered in any meaningful way. -Tons of translational issues that make the puzzles super un-intuitive. The absolute WORST offender is one of the puzzles requiring a caps sensitive answer when there is no suggestion for this anywhere. I still don't have a clue what the intended solution for the act one morgue lock is. It made no sense to me even with a walk through. -The sewer monster will sometimes put you in unavoidable situations of death, causing even more wasted time. I'm willing to look past jank animations and poor audio design/acting (it's not too bad) in small projects like this that have obviously personal thematic intentions, but these previously listed issues absolutely destroyed any sense of wonderment that I had in the prologue and first act - both of which were significantly better polished. There is some potential here, but to say La Salamanca needs work is a sad understatement and not one that's remedied by having to scour Discord discussions.
After enjoying the demo, I had high hopes for the full game. Alas, the game is riddle with bugs and bad translations. I was soft-locked more than once. A puzzle in the morgue made absolutely no sense even after discovering the solution and then we're faced with having to navigate a mansion in the dark with a flashlight that depletes its battery at an insane speed. The monster chasing you can also block you into a room with no escape so even though game advises you to run... you can't. After bashing my head against this game repeatedly because of how much I liked the demo I just cannot finish it. Not recommended in its current state. This game needs major fixes.
