♥♥♥♥ you rockstar
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful. janky as ♥♥♥♥, limited cases and features, and broken mechanics
I changed ISP and lost access to the associated e-mail account and to the game. Rockstar "support" kept sending me canned messages and was of no help. I even offered to send them the screenshot of my Steam Library with the game and receipt for the game. I got another canned message in response.
the first and best early VR tech demo made by Rockstar Games that is extremely overpriced for the amount of content it has which is only 7 missions out of the original 41 missions and that is also including the street crimes in the original game. its basically cut 80% of the game and put a $30 price tag on it when you have loads of playable missions just playing the original flat game, ridiculous. thats all the negative things I can say about it really. The driving mechanics are intuitive, people complain about it, I think it works wonderfully, almost everything could be picked up and can be interacted. I love VR and although it is still a niche side of gaming, I hope it was enough to convince Rockstar games to innovate into other ways of playing their games for projects down the line. Ever since getting a virtual reality, flat screen gaming doesn't really cut it for me anymore, and there's simply not enough to grandeur about when we have been playing the same way for seven decades now.
Absolute trash. Bought the game, forced me to instal the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Rockstar launcer, and then asks for a rockstar activation key to play the game i just bought via steam. Asked rockstar support whats up, they say its steams problem. Ask steam whatsupp, they say its Rockstars problem. End up with a game i can't even launch because they want me to pay twice for it
Very reluctant recommendation, as the driving, shooting and fighting is enjoyable and 1947 LA feels very immersive - you just can't escape the feeling that they intended to remake the whole game and gave up when they realised how much work it would be, but then sold what they had at full price anyway. Could easily have been of the best VR games but, as it is, it's basically a short tech demo that feels more like a tease - "Look at what you could have played"! Wait for a heavy discount or you'll probably be disappointed, unless you really want to know how it feels to wear a big hat in VR. There are just a handful of stripped-back non-sequitur cases which, if you're unfamiliar with the full game, will make little sense and it lacks the help of the full version for finding the clues. I often suffer motion sickness in VR but had no issues here, however it's let down by frequently teleporting you about instead of letting you move there yourself, which breaks the immersion. Yes, I can understand the need for getting in/out of your car, but at least let me walk from the car to the crime scene! Can confirm it works fine on Quest 3 (tested running through Virtual Desktop). You will need an email address to register and the CD Key to install - right-click on the game in Steam > Manage > CD Keys.
