Wspaniałości gamingu sprzed prawie 20 lat. Zacna produkcja. Oczywiście kiedyś robiła większe wrażenie, bo teraz to wycieczka po zakamarkach historii gamingu.
So I've had my eyes on this game since shortly after it came out so i wanted to get around to it for almost 20 years... but thats easier said then done. back when i first heard about it maybe i would've been able to run it but never even saw a copy of this irl. later when i finally picked it up on steam for like 1€ i found out my windows 10 wouldn't run it. No matter how hard i tried over the years i never got it to work properly maybe with distorted aspect ratio some time but... it was not playable. Now this year I finally got a decently powerful new machine and finally went linux so time to play some janky old games. And yeah it took a bit. No proton worked. ProtonDB said i had to install some dependencies on winetricks but it still woudnt run. But then 4ltair posted delete 'start /d "." ' from kult.bat and finally after all these years i got to see the intro. (some spoilers ahead) Yeah its not that impressive. I'm really into divine divinity and this game feels a bit like it so thats what got me to play it. The story and lore is actually really interesting and maybe thats enough for me to give the sequel(s) a go. And its comparatively short so it doesnt outstay its welcome. But it is pretty rough ngl. It is a bit hard to pinpoint why... is it the loot? I never got a useful amulet the whole game for example but it was kind of fine. I mean i actually really liked the attunement mechanics and i gave loot some extra purpose its... interesting. So is the dreamworld - good way to get some filler i really enjoyed it though. They really tried to do something new and they had the story and the loot was okay - thats all you need for an ARPG really - so what is it about this game that makes it just average? I dont mind the low budget feel in fact i appreciate it. The drawn cut scenes are really charming in an old d&d type of way. Nothing else really lookks all that good outside of some monster designs but the backgrounds and ui and characters were all just serviceable but thats not really what i care about though. What i do care about that inventory management is annoying and you click stuff by accident constantly just trying to walk. So suddendly the actions box half of the screen and you cant dodge enemies and die. Literally the most deadly foe of the heretic kingdoms is the scourge of the actions box. And ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i made the mistake of playing a pure firemage but later on theres lava elementals and i could only do 1 damage per attack- well i have the flame invincibility atunement and i add the extra damage to elementals one that should work right? it doesnt still only 1 damage tbf they also could only hur me by 1hp so i had to kill them with the necromancers staff which was tedious but not as bad as the first 3 in the arena when i first came across them and killed them in a 40min battle of me trying to keep holding right mouse button until theyre more dead then i am slowly draining them 1 hp at a time. All of that misery of a mage build and the elementals were only the begining ;) Al of that for the game to think i played a warrior instead of a mage in the end for some reason idk why i barely touched weapons and armours. Also the save system sucks. Cast and run got a bit boring at some point. the map was useless. And the sound design was pretty bad. I mean the music was fine. Not a single song was good but eh it was okay. Unfortunately tho the sound effects and especially the mix was terrible. Overall i mean i would recommend it if you like old janky rpgs. Genuinly good story and world but the game part although innovative with the dreamworld and attunement systems is really held back by bad design choices and technical annoyances.
I was never much of a fan of half baked Diablo clones, I sigh every time I realize I've put one in my backlog.
Um clássico à semelhança do Sacred Gold. Vale a pena para juntar aos restantes, pelo factor de nostalgia
This is another game that I didn't get far into before I was distracted by other games and I doubt I'll ever finish it.
POhodová klasika. POctivé herní mechanismy, herní tempo je tak akorát, ovládání přejde do krve během necelé minuty. Děj originální. Víc takových!
