About

Korea. IL-2 Series takes you to a pivotal moment in aviation history—a time when jet engines changed the skies forever. During the Korean War, the piston-engine aircraft of a bygone era clashed with the first jet fighters.
For the first time in the series, gamepads are supported in addition to joysticks and HOTAS control systems.
With a massive combat map, authentically recreated aircraft, and a well-crafted balance between simulation and accessibility, every dogfight is brought to life.
Become an ace, fight in legendary machines, or aim even higher and become a regiment’s commander. Lead squadrons, plot routes across the combat map, and issue orders to turn the tide of history. In the skies of Korea, you can be anyone: from a rank-and-file pilot to a strategist shaping the outcome of the campaign.
For the first time in the IL-2 series, full controller support has been implemented.

The aircraft of the Korean War have been recreated based on actual blueprints, historical photographs, flight manuals, and other archival materials. There are eight* aircraft at your disposal.
*Please note La‑11 and F‑84E Thunderjet are available in the Premium and Deluxe editions, or as a separate DLC.

Every instrument in the cockpit is fully functional and reflects the state of the aircraft’s systems in real time. You will be aiming and firing just as pilots did 75 years ago.

The game takes place on the largest map in the series' history, covering an area of over 200,000 square kilometers. The Korean Peninsula has been recreated based on historical maps and documents from the 1950s. All significant historical landscape changes have been accounted for, including reclaimed coastal areas and shoreline changes.
The map features dozens of airbases with historically accurate layouts, hundreds of settlements, and strategic objectives such as ports, dams, and transport hubs.

The Home by Christmas campaign tells the story of Captain Jack Russell, who in 1950 secures a transfer to a combat unit fighting in the Korean War to fulfill his dream of becoming a jet ace.
You will fly 15 historically accurate combat missions, recreated from the combat logs of the 8th Fighter-Bomber Wing and the memoirs of its pilots.
The campaign reflects unique challenges of the war's early months: jet aircraft could not operate from small forward airstrips, so some pilots had to temporarily return to piston-engined machines. Over the course of the campaign, you will fly both the F-51 Mustang and the F-80 Shooting Star jet.

In Career mode, you will act as an air regiment commander, managing personnel and overseeing aviation logistics.
It is up to you to decide whether to take to the skies or focus on strategic tasks. As a regiment commander, you will maintain combat readiness, plan operations, and reinforce your units.

Korea features a highly detailed damage model for both aviation and ground objects. Aircraft, including strategic bombers, as well as ground vehicles, trains, and ships, receive damage corresponding to the nature of the hits sustained.
Every object reacts realistically to collisions, crashes, and combat damage, taking into account mass, speed, and the point of impact, directly affecting the behavior of the vehicle and the outcome of the battle.

In this new mode, you can examine each aircraft, ground vehicle, and naval vessel in detail. Explore the models, learn about their development and combat history, inspect aircraft cockpits, and compare technical specs, including detailed performance charts.
Your own personal museum, open anytime—a true treasure for anyone passionate about aviation and military history.

For the first time in the series, you can leave the cockpit and walk around the airfield where your regiment is based.
Animations of the people—pilots, soldiers, and civilians—were created using motion capture (MOCAP) technology, ensuring natural and lifelike movement.
Full VR support via OpenXR and OpenVR.
Accessibility: The game features detailed systems management, but there’s no need to memorize engine start-up sequences—you can take off and engage immediately.
Hardware support: From controllers to desktop joysticks and professional HOTAS systems.

as a Veteran of both Il2 1946 and Il2 GB, I have to say this game is a whole 'nother level compared to the previous games... thanks 1C for jumping back into Jet v Jet Action!
д, вместо обычных A, B, X, Y....

IL-2 Korea: A Thrilling Next-Gen Leap for Combat Flight Simulation With IL-2 Korea, the legendary franchise opens an exciting new chapter, delivering exactly what flight sim enthusiasts have been waiting for: the intense transition from classic piston-engine dogfights into the dawn of the jet age. Key Highlights & Strengths: An Iconic, Untapped Setting: The legendary duels in “MiG Alley” between the F-86 Sabre and the MiG-15 bring a completely fresh dynamic to air combat. Blending late-war propeller aircraft with the first operational swept-wing jet fighters fills a long-neglected gap in the genre. Masterful Flight Physics & Energy Management: The flight model captures the unique quirks and challenges of early jet aviation with incredible fidelity. Transonic flight characteristics, engine limitations, heavy G-forces, and strict vertical energy-fighting feel authentic and tactile. Every victory in the air has to be earned through smart tactics. Next-Gen Visuals & Technology: The upgraded engine delivers razor-sharp cockpits, breathtaking volumetric cloud and weather effects, and an atmospheric Korean terrain. Paired with the series' renowned, detailed damage modeling, the air battles look visually stunning. Punchy Sound Design & Cockpit Immersion: From the distinct whine of jet turbines and the heavy clatter of high-caliber machine guns to period-accurate radio chatter, the cockpit atmosphere pulls you right into the heart of the action. Verdict IL-2 Korea strikes the perfect balance between uncompromising realism and engaging gameplay. For fans of historical combat aviation and demanding flight dynamics, this title is a standout achievement and the next major milestone for the flight simulation genre.
Overall I'm really happy with the final product here as someone who sucks at flight sims. You have a number of options to adjust realism and physics to suit your level. Price feels right for a modern sim game, it's pricey but that's the cost of entry in 2026. You get three planes for each side and the jets are a blast to fly, especially coming from using prop planes for so long. Career mode and mission set up is very flexible, I haven't played around too much with the campaign yet.
Honestly, I've been watching this game's progress for a long while, as I have been playing 1C games for years now. As soon as the game dropped, I saw the price tag, and honestly it's not too bad for a game that I love. (I've spent $300 on one game before, so $100 for the premium version wasn't that bad to me) They have taken a huge step in the right direction with the initial release and how the game is at this moment (I know people have been having issues with VR; I'm sure that will be fixed in the upcoming patches), but for the most part they have done everything correctly from a new damage model to a new engine; just everything is great IMO. One of my personal favorites is the fact we now have a four-engine plane in the game (B-29, yes, I know you cannot crew it). All in all, I think this game is def worth the $80-$100 for people that enjoy flight sims; otherwise, just wait until a sale comes out and get the game and probably future DLCs cheaper than what they are right now. I hope you enjoyed this post and it helps anyone on the fence about this game!
Alot of Fun
This game is clearly the next gen for flight sims. It's atmospheric, detailed and "feels" right. Lots of improvements are needed though, especially for the VR experience. But I'm sure this will come and I look forward to many years of playing this sim. So few of these types of games ever get made.
Me encanta.Con RV es brutal.Como acabade salir, falta mejorar detalles, pero estoy seguro de que lo perfeccionaran.
this is game is very fun better then the first one its more detailed and way better damage models plus its a ton of fun and the sounds are amazing as well cant wait to see what they come up with in the future!!!!
