About
Tired of games with shotguns that only have one or two barrels? KOOK lets you fire THREE Barrels at once! You can even use the recoil to jump higher.
Over-the-top steampunk themed weapons often provide alt-fires with interesting utility, such as the grenade launcher which can create a gravity well to pull in enemies and physics objects to make them easier to blow up, or the flame thrower which provides a jet thrust to launch objects, enemies, or yourself around. The time vampire can create a time distortion to slow things down, and the rocket launcher can fire tracking darts. Even the primary fire can be used for utility. Spikes from the time vampire can be jumped on as a make-shift stairway to shortcut the map or find secrets.
KOOK is nostalgia the way we remember it. The graphics are chunky and low poly but have modern rendering technology like realtime lighting and self-shadowing textures for extra immersion, all done per-texel so it keeps that retro vibe.
You play as a madman, or kook, and when the ancient ones returned and claimed the sanity of those around you, you had nothing to lose. Insane cultists and Lovecraftian horrors lurk around every corner and must be eliminated. Shoot everything that moves! Maybe shoot some things that aren't moving, too, and if they start moving, shoot them again.
