Lowkey a good passion project, I can respect the effort. 7/10
I was super into this game when I started it. However, the final boss fight is trash. It keeps going and going and going to the point where what she is throwing at you is absurd. And if you die, gotta redo the whole thing. No thanks. I'll stick to real Dark Souls if I want this level of frustration.

"Kogarashi" is a student project from the DigiPen Institute of Technology in Bilbao, a rather routine third person action slasher game with an ancient Japanese mythology theme. The problem here is, well, apart from some pretty stale gameplay, is lack of general polish and a rather poor gameplay handling. It's sluggish and slow, the initial enemies too easy and the boss too annoying. DigiPen sometimes come up with some great student projects, but not always. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
Kogarashi, kötü ruh Yuki Onna'ya ve buz iblislerinden oluşan ordusuna karşı savaşan ateş iblisi Abura Akago'yu kontrol ettiğiniz bir 3D Hack N' Slash oyunudur.
Positives: Literally nothing. Negatives: Literally everything, but I'll list a few of them. 1. The settings automatically revert back to where they originally were every time you change them, so that's pretty annoying. 2. The movement for everything you do is annoyingly slow. Some souls like games can have slower movement, but the speed in this game is just ridiculously slow. 3. The enemies are pathetically easy to kill, which is not souls-like in any way. In conclusion, even though it may be free, it's not worth the space it takes up on your pc, and it's not worth the time it will waste out of your life.
