About
Grab your bike, pedal off and beat back the Greed to save your town. Kingdom Eighties is a story-based tower defense spin-off to the award-winning Kingdom series set in the ‘80s. This is a singleplayer and local co-op (or online co-op via Steam Remote Play Together) adventure with base building and strategy elements, rad aesthetics and a soundtrack inspired by the sweet synth tunes of the ‘80s.
Something disturbing has broken free from the shadows and it's up to you as The Leader to drive the evil back by recruiting your friends and other kids from the neighborhood. Together you will build your defenses and protect the town from the relentless attacks by the mysterious Greed monsters that are trying to steal your family heirloom, the Crown of Creation. For what nefarious purposes, who knows?
Gather your three unique companions, each with special skills, and recruit other kids to build defenses, collect coins and… run a lemonade stand and a pizza shop (among many other things)! Manage the people you recruit, unlock tools and more importantly gear your crew up for the horrors that come at night.
A force, dormant for centuries, has somehow broken free in the ‘80s; Kingdom Eighties is a comic-sized story about the small town Monarch that has come under threat by an unknown evil. It has fallen upon you, as The Leader, to defend it and save the day. Rally the Summer Camp when an evil force of goopy Greed monsters attack and try to break your defenses. Where did they come from and where the heck are all the adults? Uncover clues and discover what happened to everybody else as you repel and fight the Greed back.
Kingdom's iconic, handcrafted art style is back, now with a neon touch coming directly from the ‘80s aesthetics. Chill and vibe with the synthy OST from Andreas Hald, and travel back to the wonder days of bike riding and summer camps, when everything seemed possible.
In the true arcade style, Kingdom Eighties features a new game mode: Survival Mixtapes! Bring your best tactics and strategies to fend off progressively harder waves of Greed in four different episodes including “Back to the Suburbs” and “Greed, First Goo”. Make on-the-fly decisions as certain buildings’ special abilities are disabled and levels feature random mounts. This game mode is sure to put your skills to the test!

Solid several hours of fun, worth it if its on sale
I love this game soo much. such a great soundtrack, love the aesthetic, love all the 80's stuff soo much. The gameplay is fun. love the graphics style, local coop was a great idea too. love splitscreen play. Honestly wish they would make a sequel in the 90's maybe winter of greed and have holiday movie references like home alone or something with 90's electro soundtrack or something. just an idea. ;) But honestly love this very much. Its very different like a resource managing, strategy, tower defense with story. I really liked it. felt Stranger like. Which was cool. recommend giving it a try. when they have it on sale go get it and enjoy! PS.. Devs please consider a kingdom 90's. Possibly winter of greed.. Might be really cool too. :) Maybe the kingdom 80's characters as adults working together in the 90's or even a whole new set of characters would be cool.
现在打折后的价格刚刚好,游玩体验除了各个兵种外观没之前的作品突出,导致不好辨识外,其他都还是不错的,尤其最爱最后的彩虹超级独角兽!
An interesting twist on the Kingdoms campaign. I love this series and i consider it a very addictive and relaxing game. I had a good time going back to this new adventure, i totally recommend it if you like the series. Good music, good pixel art, and i loved the feeling of companionship with the added friends in the story. It's always a good time to come back to Kingdoms from time to time, especially with this new entry. Score: 10/10.
An incredibly fun and astoundingly creative spin on the already amazing Kingdom franchise.
A very relaxing and pleasurable version of Kingdom. It's not very hard to finish (around 8 hours, or a bit more), the siege system is very fun, and all the elements from the 80's are very enjoyable. At first I was wondering how two concepts so disparate from each other would work in a game, but here they do, surprisingly. The story is lame, but having some story is better than having none, like the first two Kingdom games that are simply "a lone king/queen...". This game also has a good balance about what mechanics they'll teach vs. what mechanics the players should figure out. Kingdom: New Lands kind of tries to fix this from the new game, adding that "faerie king/queen" that gives some hints, plus removing a lot of tedious mechanics that Kingdom and Kingdom: New Lands have. Some players might judge too easy this way, but if I want to make it harder, I adjust the difficulty myself. I'd say it's not a game to pay full price, but totally worth in a sale.
This is a "recommended if" game. The appeal of this whole series to us is local coop. Kingdom Eighties had no local coop support for a year+ after it's release and it now it was added so I bought it for 3.5€, simply because it was cheaper than 9.99€ for the Olympos DLC of Kingdom Two Crowns. Kingdom Two Crowns is a fantastic game and if you are looking for a one button strategic management base defense game to enjoy your with your loved one on couch coop, you should absolutely buy that game instead. It is far more content rich, more cohesive and intuitive in graphical design, and offers far more content in form of both free and paid DLCs that come with both a unique theme (Viking / Shogun / Olympos / Undead), weekly difficulty variants / challanges. In case you have 50 hours in that game and want something new, and you like the 80s, pop culture references and the general fantasy of Stranger Things, than think of Kingdom Eighties as a fun DLC for Kingdom Two Crowns to buy on sale. In every other case, buy Kingdom Two Crowns first. For the owners of any Kingdom games, here are the differences: * Theme, obviously * Missions: get specific items hidden somewhere on the "island" and deliver them to someone or somewhere to progress / unlock new things. * Generally much lower difficulty * Towers are now unmanned, easily customizable, but can be destroyed. * Farms are replaced with a wide variety of smalltown buildings where you invest gold to get some back (pizza place, arcade etc.) * NPCs follow you by default, can fight, and are invulnerable. They also teleport to where they need to be for upgrades. * There is a Paint level story cutscene between episodes (islands) with no voiceover. It feels like a "play once" campaign, and less of a sandbox like the previous campaigns of other games.
