Okay hear me out. Big fan of KF1, one of the first games I played on steam. Killing Floor 2 was also great but not as good as one. Killing Floor 3 is definitely a step in the right direction with the game. It feels like a new game with similar old mechanics and the zombie shooting. But feels fresh! and fun! Performance: RTX 4060 mobile and 800MB download speed. Game runs smooth at 55-80 fps quality looks good no stutters or jittery gameplay pretty smooth honestly Here is where its getting bombarded by negative reviews. The Loading Micro shaders is kinda annoying but I timed it and the first one only takes 3 minutes and 45 seconds. The second one only took like 2 minutes I understand having to load shaders is annoying every time you wanna play but other than that this game is HELLA HELLA FUN! 5/5 Would highly recommend if you can get it for $10 or $15 Lots of fun to be had here.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

There's potential however the game is horrendously unoptimized. I agree that the wait time for shaders to compile can be irritatingly long at first, but, the wait time drastically reduces after you've compiled a few times. I'm not giving this game a negative review because it's not too dissimilar from the other games in the series gameplay wise, and graphically, it does look better than the older titles - however it's a shame it seems to have come at a huge optimisation cost. One may think by how intensive this game is to run, that its graphics must be some sort of a next generation, photo-realistic, zombie shooter... That's far from the case. This game is also in dire need of a server browser, it feels like a gamble whether you're going to join a lobby with players or not. For any one facing performance issues I highly recommend turning off lumen and utilising an upscaler (NVIDIA DLSS or Intel XeSS) set to 'quality' or 'balanced'. I hope Tripwire continues to optimise this game as there's potential, but that potential is being ravaged by terrible optimisation, and bugs. One bug I've encountered numerous times is failing to connect to matches where you're stuck on an endless loading screen leading me to restart the entire game.
Loading issues? Read second part. I like the game, it’s fun. High intensity shooter, exactly what you’d expect from killingfloor. Loading issues are due to cache size. If you go into your Nvidia (or corresponding app) and increase the size to 10gb you’ll stop downloading shaders and loads will go from 2 minutes to 20 seconds tops. It also cuts back on crashing issues and such.
Pretty disappointing. I have hundreds of hours into KF1 and 2. Worked flawlessly. This game has been nothing but crashes and compiling shaders...I bet I have spent 20 hours of my life compiling shaders every time there is a game update or video driver update. truly ridiculous! Coop is sketchy as well.
I really enjoyed the aesthetic, gun feel and mobility and general vibe. Got hyped to spend some time in this world. Didn't care it was different from KF2, actually enjoyed the fresh air. Unfortunately, in my 30 minutes playing the game crashed 5 times. What a shame. :(
my pc couldnt run it but NOW I CAN PLAY YAY :DDD

I just started playing so I'm late to the pain this game caused players. To me it seems like all that pain is in the past. Yes its not as good at Killing Floor 2 and yes its missing a lot, but its a good game after 5 hours of playing I haven't had any problems that I've read about with old and recent reviews. The game still has a long way to go but so did KF1 and 2. I'm excited about the future of this game and I recommend you giving it a try or a second chance. Thank you for taking your time to read this have a great day.
Trash compared to the second
Gunplay feels pretty nice, progression is surprisingly fun and rewarding, and the variety of Zeds this time around and their balancing is actually great. It's definitely a good time once you can get past the annoying crap like the shader caching and performance issues. I still have my share of complaints, however: Weapon variety has it's ups and downs, as there isn't quite as many unique guns as past games but each one has a more distinct identity, and combined with the new attachments system that encourages players to grind, players can fine-tune their builds to perfection. Personally, I wish we had more modern weapons to go along with the futuristic stuff. Weapon animations are kind of all over the place, only a few feel chunky and satisfying while most others are jankier than some of KF1's animations. Regardless, popping Zed heads still feels like injecting dopamine directly into my bloodstream. Not a fan of the gameplay HUD. I mean, it's perfectly serviceable, but some HUD elements can feel too large (such as the objective tracker) or just look a bit strange. It's okay aesthetically, but they could add a bit more flair to it. It reminds me of that KF clone on Roblox, BLOODFEST. KF2's in-game HUD nailed the sci-fi style way better while remaining functional, ironic considering KF3 is set in 2091. I keep my HUD opacity at 60% and it feels far better this way. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I cannot recommend this to anyone without at least a fairly modern mid-range setup or better. I struggle to maintain a good framerate at the lowest possible settings with DLSS Ultra Performance on a 3060Ti 8GB and Ryzen 5 7600. My CPU is coasting through the game for the most part, but this game is incredibly VRAM hungry regardless of what settings are used and suffers from awful framerate issues once VRAM caps out. At the lowest settings, you can expect it to consume around 7 to 7.5GB. In my case, once my usage hits 8GB, my framerate tanks from 90-110 FPS all the way down to ~10 FPS (keep in mind, at the lowest settings as well rendering at 480p upscaled to 1440p). The "minimum" requirements on Steam is a fat load of baloney. The shader precaching problem is still present, but not quite as bad as it was (based on what I've heard). Once shaders are done compiling the first two or so times, you'll never see that screen again until your GPU's shader cache is cleared either by driver update or manually clearing the cache. First launch is miserable, but afterwards it's almost a non-issue.
