Great game! Horribly Optimized... I beat the first 3 levels and i really do love the game! The only problem is it's unwillingness to run smoothly... The game stutters tremendously and i have changed just about every graphical setting on my PC to get it to stop dropping in frames. The things i have changed: Nvidia's Control Panel: -Power Management Mode is set to maximum performance -Texture Quality is set to performance -Texture filters have been set to performance SteamVR Video Settings: -Resolution is marked down to 80% (any further and the game isnt worth the price) -Screen Mirror to monitor resolution is set to low Background Apps: -The only applications running on my PC when playing in VR are Steam & Steam VR -I make sure nothing is running in the background from the icons tab If there is a dev reading this PLEASE consider optimizing the game for Index :) My PC specs: -CPU i9 -GPU rtx 3090 -Motherboard ROG CROSSHAIR VIII (also your pause menu is broken on Idex controllers)
Come on now, as kids we all used to pick up our toy planes and use our imagination as we took them to battles, do cool stunts and more. Well now thanks to kid pilot you can do it all again but in VR. The mechanics are amazing as it really feels like you are holding a toy plane as you go through the missions completing puzzles. Be warned though this is no cosy chill out game, far from it the difficulty as you get deeper into the game will, if like me make you rage quit. visuals are very good and just add to the immersion. Check out my video for some gameplay. https://youtu.be/zqmgavHjTEo?si=fqsGZ9PLomk3ZHAm
I like the graphics, gameplay, & premise, but I can't recommend this because the head tracking doesn't feel good. It's laggy and feels weird. I'm using VD over 6E w/ a Q3 & router in the same room. PC is a 7800X3D & 4090. The game opens the Oculus/Meta app automatically for some reason, so I don't know if that has something to do with it. I refunded the game. If they fix it, I'll buy the game again and change my review. Here's my gameplay, but you can't tell there are head tracking issues from the video. https://youtu.be/_E7bKEsXFrs
A really fun, immersive adventure. Simple controls, lots of room to explore, definitely pick this up. PS: I just realized! You know Wii Sports Resort? You know how there's an Island Flyover mode? You use the Wii Remote Plus in your hand to physically control the plane with motion. This game is just like that, but with more to explore. It's amazing.
I couldn't stop making noises with my mouth. This game is, objectively speaking, a little gem. While I played I felt the love poured by the developers in this little work of art. You can feel this was made from a passion project. Graphically very cured, with 3d models well made. Music is also relaxing and the gameplay itself is not bad at all. There are puzzles, boss battles and speed races. At the beginning looks very easy, but then it gets challenging later on. I played a couple of hours so far and I had quite a bit of fun. There are some perfomance issues in one level, but the developer is aware of it and is working to improve the situation. I am really enjoying this game! I was pleasantly surprised to realize that the game is actually harder than it looks. It's difficult to manage to pull such great aesthetics combined with a difficulty level that presents a challenge and keeps you hooked in the game. I think the creativity and originality of the developers is pretty obvious from the get go, and they did a really good job at creating a world that is immersive and challenging at the same time. I also think that it's awesome that the developers took the idea of us playing with toy planes as kids to create a whole virtual reality experience about it. Hats off to you sires! 10/10
Is a excellent VR Game the gameplay is simple and intuitive. It ´s very fun, you can spend time just flying around the stages and the music is also super relaxing and original. I hope for a second part of this game.
I didn’t know what to expect with Kid Pilot, but it blew me away! The controls are super intuitive, and the hand movements make flying feel natural and immersive. The game strikes the perfect balance between challenge and fun, with each level offering something fresh. What I really appreciate is how different it is from the usual VR games. No horror, no shooting—just pure adventure and creativity. It’s been a while since I’ve played something that feels this original. Highly recommend for anyone looking to switch up their VR lineup
I spent half of my time fighting against the game. Between the crashes, the pause menu that opened randomly and only let me exit the level, the headache inducing loadings every time you crash... The controls are also somewhat unintuitive in room space, as you can't really just move your arm up to move the plane up, you only have proper control of its rotation. What I saw of the three levels I played were interesting, but not enough for me to want to put up with the bad stuff for the rest of the game.
MAGICAL 10/10
