This game is a lot of fun, When it's not being incredibly annoying. There are a couple small things that combine to make this game really unfun past the first few levels (>15 or so). First, enemies spawning at the top of the screen have their words above them where you can't read it. Second, enemies will re-roll their words seemingly at random and VERY often, making it easy to miss and miss and miss the same enemy because they change words faster than you can reach the key you need. Third, lower case letters, especially combined with words that are just random letters and numbers, is really confusing at times. Either make the game all caps or make the game words only - and even then I would prefer all caps so that i and l and g and p and q are as easy to tell apart as possible - the goal is to go fast, and letters that look alike (the font chosen doesn't help) hinders this. if these things were fixed this could be a way more enjoyable game, but, as it stands, if often feels really unfair.

fend off zombies by typing words above their head and compare your score to random people on the leaderboard if you want. there's a how to play section called tutorial for some reason, which it isn't. a single typo breaks the combo, yellow words give more gold, blue ones freeze foes, purples get rid of 3 baddies. level up means choosing a helpful perk, the shop, appearing every few days, lets you buy and upgrade items like barricades and mines. the environment changes after every 10 days, that's neat. night only happens after every few days, but then lasts several days too, bit weird. canned tomato soup is used to unlock character skins, I think one's awarded for every 1k points at the end. it's a simple affair, not necessarily a bad thing, but there are some bigger and smaller issues, such as:

the game doesn't save on exit, not even a warning or confirmation when going back to the menu.
no difficulty settings and instead of providing some, the dev just upped the overall difficulty in every aspect recently, very accommodating.
the only available font is not the best, easy to confuse i and l, for instance.
no need to press enter but can't escape a word you started typing, can lead to death when a single red letter is waiting somewhere to be typed.
no keyboard controls besides esc to bring up the menu, have to mouse around on level up, in the shop and menus.
item placement hotspots are way off. the game is paused then, so just move the cursor around until one turns green.
words getting jumbled are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying, though there's an indicator now, just have to wait until they settle on the new one.
nonsense strings to type instead of actual words are also frustrating.
enemies coming from the top also have their words above them, so it takes a while until they can be attacked, with much less leeway than enemies coming from the sides.
the leaderboard is just one long list and top 100 only. can't filter to friends or jump to your position either, which is at least shown on top.
showing 'amazing' and such after upping the combo multiplier is a ♥♥♥♥ move, tempting to start typing because that's the game and break the combo.
settings don't even cover the absolute basics but are available anytime. overall graphics detail from very low to ultra, whatever they entail, windowed mode toggle, qwerty/qwertz layout option and a single volume slider for all the music and sfx. music in the menu is much louder than during the game. esc brings up and closes the pause menu but doesn't close the settings screen. no typer will be as fun as typing of the dead and I hated these sections in epistory (then again, that was pretty bad in most ways outside the presentation), but this could've been something with a bit more care. and if for nothing but variety, once a new location is reached, it could be chosen as a starting area instead of all forest all the time. it's purely cosmetic anyway.
2 main issues in this game. First is the enemies whose letters change. There is no warning whatsoever. You could be accurately about to type the letter 1/100th of a second before it changes, then it changes and you type in the whole word quickly and smash your accuracy. Why cant it flash or change colour to show it is about to change? Second is the placement of the mud. I don't know if this affects other items, but it is basically a random search for the sweet spot of where to click the mouse to place the mud. Some directions are spot on, some are miles away from the placement location. Needless, careless. If it wasnt free, it would be a refund for these reasons I'm afraid.
This game is actually pretty cool and totally different from most games I’ve played. The whole point is that you have to type super fast and accurately to control your troops and fight in battles. It’s like a strategy game but instead of clicking around, you’re typing words as quickly as possible. Mess up a word, and your strategy falls apart—it’s intense! The game gets pretty challenging, especially as you go through the campaign, but it’s super satisfying once you get the hang of it. The visuals are simple, but that works because it helps you focus on the action. I’d say it’s perfect if you’re into improving your typing skills but also want something that feels more tactical and action-packed. It’s not for everyone, though. If you’re not into fast-paced games or don’t like typing under pressure, it could be frustrating. But if you're looking for something unique, it’s worth trying. Plus, you’ll end up typing like a pro!
i liked it you shud too
"Keyboard Soldier" is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game, typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. This is an asset flip of a bunch of Synty Studios Poly Pack assets, looks like the zombie/post apocalyptic one and a couple of others. They've been arranged into a simple typing game where you "shoot" zombies by typing the words above your head, so you can do wave survival gameplay coupled with the opposite-of-fun that is typing drills. Yawn. At least some effort went into rearranging Synty's assets into some kind of game, but regardless, asset flipping is a serious problem that gamers have to put up with. But hey, if you think that asset flipping like what is happening here is bad, wait until that gets replaced with the onslaught of AI slop we're starting to see from all these amateur developers. So, the game might look better than you'd expect from an amateur project, but this is because it's partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Very little in this game is truly the creation of the "developer", it's just a bunch of rearranged assets. While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "Keyboard Soldier". The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lot less work. As a result of this poor decision, the game gets tired and repetitive almost immediately. Developers must learn that procgen is a terrible substitute for creating real content. It should not be used as "ez-mode" for content creation, as the developer tried to do here. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $3 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 7 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? I think you should give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options. Note: Joke reviews As usual, with some of the worst games on Steam, all the comedians come out of the woodwork. The vast majority of the reviews for this game are joke reviews, mocking the game for just how bad it is. The comedians give us the usual "this game cured my cancer, saved my marriage, changed my life" story... sarcastic, but not useful if you want to know if the game is worth it. Heck, one guy just relates the order meme from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Funny, but not useful. Because most of the reviews are humorous but also insincere and not reflective of the actual quality of the product, the positive review score for this game should be taken with a grain of salt.
A fun typing game, that has leaderboards, and that is free. What else do you need to know?
very fun easy to grasp roguelike game its fun
