Kennedy Approach is the godfather of all ATC games, which I played for the first time mid of the eighties on the legendary C64. I remember this game was one of the reasons to buy a 1541 floppy disc drive (besides of Winter games...). In my opinion this game has aged well and it's exciting and challeging still as it was 40 years ago. Nevertheless don't expect top notch graphics nor a tutorial. Furthermore it won't forgive you any mistakes, so you'll start many times anew (and so did I !).
ah... the good old days... This is even better! You got more maps to work with! In my opionion the best ATC sim ever after Tracon 2.

Ich bin mit dem C64 Spiel groß geworden. Die ersten "verständlichen" Worte die man von einer Maschine gehört hatte waren die Stimmen des Fluglotsen und der virtuellen Piloten. Zum Gameplay an sich: Man sieht zu das Flugzeuge heil durch den Luftraum kommen. Man sagt den Fliegern die Richtung und die Höhe. Anhand eines sehr minimalen Flugplans in der oberen Ecke sieht man woher die Flugzeuge kommen und wohin sie möchten. Das Spiel dauert auch nur eine "Schicht" und danach werden die Punkte vergeben und mann kann sich einen neuen Flughafen auswählen. Teilweise hat man auf den Unterschiedlichen Karten auch mehrere Flughäfen um die man zeitgliech mit Starts und Landungen kümmert und zur Rushhour kann es schon mal etwas hecktisch werden. Einziger Kritikpunkt den ich habe das man bei einem Notfall, wenn zu wenig Treibstoff vorhanden ist, nicht genau erkennt welche Maschine da gerade einen Notruf abgesetzt hat. Aber das ist ein Haar in der Suppe was ich jetzt suche.
If you played this, on old Commodre computer, 64 or Amiga. Then you should play this version. improve and with more options.
Good (maby even one of the best) oldschool retro games from Atari/C64/Amiga, nothing like modern games. A game like its classic version, fully reflecting the spirit of the original and providing just as much fun to play. In addition, perfect contact with the creator. I definitely recommend it.
Really enjoying playing Kennedy Approach on Steam. I've played the OG quite a bit on the C64 (and have a shrink wrapped box of it on the shelf in my office) and this seems a flawless remake as far as I can tell. It's like updated "just enough" without tampering with what made it great to begin with. Very well done.

Everything I remember from the Commodore 64 version and more! Controllable with both keyboard and mouse. Graphics and sound seem identical to the C-64 version. Additionally there are new cities that weren't in the original version, the anticipated path of the planes are highlighted for you before you issue the instructions, and a little key shows up next to the planes on the map to remind you where they are coming from and going to. Also there's more options than the original had, you can save your games.
Kennedy Approach is the ultimate mind exercize. I still cannot fathom the depth of this game, and the sheer miracle to make it hold in a cassette, 40 years ago, along with an excellent speech synthesis! This remake has everything the original had, plus several new maps. Chicago is so good with 3 airports to manage simultaneously. The original Atari 800XL / C64 feel is there, and airplanes sprites have been redrawn for better "readability" of the screen. I have offered this to my father and my uncle, and we are all getting a blast on who will gain the highest GS rating first :-) HIghly recommend 5/5
loved this game back in day...as in last century. simple easy to play..but yet can be very challenging.
