Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Jul 24 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

KAMUI is a tightly focused vertical shoot ’em up that reflects both the strengths and traditions of the Japanese doujin shooter scene. Developed by SITER SKAIN and published by Henteko Doujin, the game delivers an experience that is unapologetically arcade-driven, placing mechanical mastery, pattern recognition, and replayability above narrative ambition or visual excess. From the first moments, it establishes a tone of speed and precision, demanding that players engage fully with its systems rather than easing them in gently. At its core, KAMUI is built around fluid movement and relentless bullet patterns that require constant attention. The player pilots a futuristic combat craft through vertically scrolling stages filled with layered enemy formations and dense projectile spreads. What sets the game apart from many other shooters is its dual-plane combat system, which introduces an additional dimension to decision-making. Enemies can exist on different depth layers, forcing players to juggle standard forward fire with a lock-on lightning attack that targets foes in deeper planes. This mechanic adds a subtle but meaningful layer of strategy, as survival depends not only on dodging bullets but also on choosing the correct method of offense at the right time. The game’s difficulty curve is demanding but adjustable, making it accessible without sacrificing its identity as a bullet-hell shooter. Multiple difficulty options allow newer players to learn patterns and mechanics at a manageable pace, while higher settings push experienced players toward intense memorization and precise execution. Even so, KAMUI does not shy away from punishing mistakes. Certain enemy attacks and boss patterns can feel abrupt, requiring players to internalize stage layouts and attack sequences through repetition. This emphasis on learning through failure aligns closely with traditional arcade design philosophy, where improvement comes from persistence rather than gradual mechanical unlocks. Stage design is compact and deliberate, with each level introducing new enemy behaviors and escalating pressure. The game does not rely on length to create challenge; instead, it encourages mastery through repetition and optimization. A complete run can be finished relatively quickly, but achieving consistency, high scores, or flawless execution requires far more time and dedication. Steam achievements and leaderboards reinforce this structure, giving competitive players clear incentives to refine their skills and push themselves beyond simple completion. Visually, KAMUI favors clarity and restraint. The pixel-art presentation is clean and functional, ensuring that enemy sprites, bullets, and hitboxes remain readable even during the most chaotic moments. Effects are impactful without obscuring critical information, a crucial consideration in a genre where visual noise can undermine gameplay. The soundtrack complements the action with driving, energetic tracks that maintain momentum and heighten tension, reinforcing the feeling of an escalating battle without becoming distracting. Narrative elements are minimal and largely symbolic, serving more as thematic framing than as a driving force. Brief story segments establish a science-fiction backdrop involving ancient technology and catastrophic consequences, but the plot remains secondary to the mechanical experience. This understated storytelling approach suits the game’s arcade roots, allowing players to focus on performance and progression rather than exposition. Overall, KAMUI stands as a confident and disciplined entry in the indie shmup landscape. It does not attempt to modernize the genre through RPG systems or elaborate customization, instead refining classic ideas with a small number of distinctive mechanics. Its appeal lies in the satisfaction of movement, the tension of bullet-dense encounters, and the sense of improvement that comes from mastering its systems. While its scope is modest and its challenge unforgiving, it offers a rewarding experience for players who appreciate traditional shoot ’em ups and value precision, speed, and replayability over spectacle or narrative depth.
