"Journey to Alien Worlds" is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" ripped off a few free online models/3D assets, dumped them all in a blender, slapped them on a model of the solar system they ripped off from somewhere else, dropped in a basic Unity VR engine, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers. Some work did take place here, but not much, to the point this doesn't even qualify as a game. But it does qualify as an assset flip, here's why (and it's not just because Conglomerate 5 has a long history of dumping this kind of flipped garbage on Steam). Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the software, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This software fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. This isn't a game, it's more of a (vaguely) interactive museum exhibition, as you can look at various planet surfaces in the solar system. But there's no actual gameplay. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. There's no loop here, no true interactive feedback. It simply is not a game, it cannot be "played". This seems to have been made a VR exclusive to prevent any comparison with non-VR 3D games, a comparison that this game would fail very badly at. Developers must learn that while VR is great, if the only thing that makes the game great is the VR, then the game isn't great at all. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this software was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the software. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the software... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the software just has a couple of players every week running up the software and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many softwares like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. "Journey to Alien Worlds" is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the software, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
Reseña de \Journey to Alien Worlds\
